Happy Easter Sunday Morning, Everyone,

I hope that Rusty's numbers lately (especially this morning's) are owing to NDW! I'm counting the cycles on the new, fat 1.5 dose beginning with AMPS yesterday (7 April), so this is the beginning of the 3rd cycle on this dose. (Although we began the fattened dose at AMPS on 6 April, I measured the evening dose incorrectly that day and the shot was short.).

This morning we had a good test, breakfast (Wellness Turkey), shot (successful), and now the usual nap next to the radiator. It's another cold, damp, cloudy day. Not what I associate with Easter Sunday! Later we'll go out and see what the squirrels are doing. The deer family has ambled through our yard and is now across the street. Yesterday they were eating little shoots right outside our windows! Maybe they'll leave some plants for us!

Wishing everyone a Happy Easter and a lovely day. We hope that it will be a day of good improvement for BigMac and we are keeping him and all kitties and beans in need of encouragement in our thoughts and prayers.

OK Rusty... what is up with that AMPS? Hmmmmm? Here's hoping that you settle into this new dose soon, and toss that NDW by the wayside. :-D I am sure he will Ella. Right Rusty?

Sounds like a nice morning there, despite the weather. Hos great to be able to watch the deer. I too hope they leave some plants for you. :shock: :-D Rusty you headed out soon to chase squirrels?

Happy Easter, Ella. I hope you, Edward, and Rusty have a lovely day (and the weather changes so it is a lovely day).

Are you sure Rusty didn't find some contraband? That sure looks like a contraband number! Are you sure Rusty doesn't have a stash of donuts somewhere? Those yellows and today's AMPS makes me wonder.

Nope, no contraband. We never leave food out (the result of years and years of being 'trained' by NYC roaches!), and in any event Rusty has no interest whatsoever in "bean food". And he sleeps all night on the bed with us. He usually finishes his nighttime snack before going to bed, but occasionally he leaves some and eats it in the morning, and it may well be within 2 hours of AMPS. But I think he is going through a phase. We'll see what happens after we complete 6 cycles on the new, fattened, dose.
I don't like this new trend!! Maybe a vet visit is in order.

Morning Ella and Rusty, I hope his numbers come down to his usual pretty greens. I, too, think it's so neat Rusty can go outside and see squirrels and the deer family. Once in a while we see a raccoon or opposum. Enjoy the day and hope it warms up a bit!

He didn't hear you, Ann! I took the +5.5 reading twice and got 204 on the Relion and 196 on the Arkray. Rusty might not be feeling well today. He has good appetite and good lb contributions, but he didn't want to stay outside and he played, but not energetically. He's back on his bed next to the radiator, but that is usual for the afternoon "down time". I do hope that perhaps he will have a later nadir today and begin to snap out of this high-blue/yellow funk.

Whew! 116 is much better....hope he continues safely to some Rusty-like numbers.

Carolyn, that is a neat pic. Could be Rusty as a kitten.
Rusty slept all afternoon. I didn't want to wake him, but when he woke up at +11 I tested and got a much better number: 116 (then at PMPS he went up again, but not as high as this morning). I spent the afternoon watching the Mets win--always a treat, since they don't always win like another NYC team we all know! Edward and I took a leisurely walk.

I'd like Rusty gradually to lose about 12 ounces over the next 4 or 5 months and got out his scale, which converts to an all-purpose scale and allows you to weigh the weight of a food container and then reset so that only the food in the container is weighed. So I checked the calories in his food and weighed some of the amounts of food I feed him. I found it quite instructive: an ounce of Wellness Turkey (40 kcal.) is a surprising amount of food--more than a heaping tablespoon; ditto for an ounce of By Nature 95% Turkey and Turkey Liver (20 kcal.).

It was beautiful for most of the day here. It became cold and rainy for a while.
Your comment about deer, reminded me of the bobcat that was in my yard last night. It was the first time I ever heard one.
I was on the phone with DD, and she told me what it was.

It was so close to the house, it scared the living blazes out of me. The screaming it makes, sounds like something being tortured. Even my cats were upset. I could hear it as it walked away, thank goodness.

Hmmmm......I sure hope this is NDW....certainly not the Rusty numbers we are all used to. Isn't it always the "up to go down" thing? That's what I see quite often but then they are :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
I hope he joins the rest of the crowd at the green lagoon soon. Maybe he drank too many White Russians last night?? ;-) ;-)

Tobey could barely drag his cimmamum cookie belly in the door today. He was so happy he got to see you, Ella!!

We've now completed 4 cycles on the fatter dose. We'll see what tomorrow brings. This week we may visit the vettybean!
