Horrible day here in Mikeyville. Woke up this morning, tested ( he was 123), put down the food, then shot. Two seconds later, Mikey stopped eating, ran to the LB and had the runs. From there on out, he refused to eat. I tried several different foods, but no dice. By the time I had to leave at +1.5ish, he was 97, so I rubbed some honey into his mouth. Don had 20 more minutes before he had to leave, so he was going to test him again. While waiting, Don went down to the basement to turn the water off to the washing machine, and the water heater had broken and there was water everywhere. This was on top of a $1000 repair to Don's car, the cracked waste pipe, and Mikey's dental. This is not in our budget! He had to miss work to clean up the mess, then track down a new water heater and a plumber to install it. Meanwhile, no hot water until tomorrow. Mikey finally got hungry and ate, but not before going down to 60. Tonight he hasn't been eating as well as usual, but he has eaten a good bit. He's hanging in yellow. No idea if that's a bounce, the honey, or both.

Forget vines. Send chocolate.

Vyktor, you got any of da special Aussie Gum Leaf stuff you can brings ober?

Yikes! What a day! Why does it always happen at once?:(

The honey should have worn off by now. Sending vines to Mikey and chocolate to you - you deserve lots after today.:bighug:

Wow...what a bummer of a day!!

Here.....looks like you can use this! (and it's even got a screw on top so you don't have to fool with a corkscrew!)

If the stove or oven still works and you have some water, you might manage a sponge bath.

Sounds like the day from Hell! Was the water heater still under it's warranty? Usually they come with either a 5-year or a 10-year warranty. If it goes before the warranty expires, you get a new one free. Check through your records to see if you have the original invoice. (When you buy a new one, get the 10-year one; it's been our experience that water heaters always conk out just after the warranty expires. the 10-year one is less aggravating! But sometimes you get lucky!

I hope Mikey settles down now.
