YESTERDAY'S RECAP:

AMPS 321 +3=238 +6=132
PMPS 275 +3=333 +5=320

His appetite came back on the positive side. He ate during the night and was meowing non-stop this morning so I fed him 1/4 can ff at 5:15 a.m. and freeze dried chicken after that. So he ate about 1 1/2 hours before insulin. With all the tests he has had I know it couldn't have raised his BG much. Let's see how he does today but I think this reduction is going to fail.

I bet this reduction is a bust. Do I consider this as one bounce or two given that he went down to 132 yesterday?

tonight will be 3 days from the 37, i don't think i'd change the dose until i was sure the bounce was ended. i'm not convinced that it is yet. Look how his numbers today are all slightly down from the previous number. 345-296-260-254 - let's see if he goes down farther tonight.

i think i'd hang on to the dose a little bit longer.

Thanks, Julie. I wasn't sure and also wondered if he bounced yesterday a second time from the 132 which was a big drop from his highest number yesterday.

i don't think yesterday's drops were fast enough to trigger a bounce, but you never know. he dropped about 100pts in the first 3 hrs after amps and another 100 pts in the next 3 hrs. it's always possible that the drop was faster in one hour than in the rest - no way to know. but if he dropped at a consistent rate that would've been about 30 points per hour, which is slow enough that most cats wouldn't bounce from it.

your idea is logical. it could be that he bounced from the 132 - i don't know. usually when they clear a bounce we would expect the cat to get back into a similar range of numbers that they were in before, green numbers, but with a dose reduction it's possible he wouldn't get as low. i don't know. i think tonight will tell us. if he doesn't come down into green numbers tonight you could increase in the morning. i'd probably try to hit something less than 2.0 and more than 1.75 again. max seems to like that dose - we keep having to come back to it! :-D

I just wanted to stop in and wish you luck with the dose - whether that ends up being to hold the reduction or to increase.

Come on, Max, bring it on down a bit tonight........

Just a splash of green but I will take it. Hopefully he will spend most of the night surfing blue. The good news is I get to sleep! If I don't fall asleep I might do one more test.
