Yikes, Trix, that's quite a fuds spike! I'm not sure what I think...she's had some good green cycles on the Paw Lickin' Chicken before, and at least she's turning this thing around. I totally did not expect that spike. She DID totally pig out last night, and we let her. After rejecting her initial meal of leftover BFF Tuna and Chicken Chuckles, we gave her some Paw Lickin. But we left the Chuckles down on the floor, in case anyone else wanted to nibble at it. About an hour or two later, she decided the Chuckles was acceptable after all, and CPCed that bowl too! We didn't think she'd do that (we figured she'd be done after a few licks), but she seized the opportunity and chowed down. We decided, "What the heck, it's Saturday!" and we let her live it up a bit. So, maybe last night's double-dinner is a part of these numbers, too.

Dosecrease threat is BACK ON, Trix!! It'll be Monday night if we don't start seeing better numbers here, little girl!

oh wow on that pink! A little too much extra fuds for you Trixie? ;-) The temptation must have been too great, or maybe the others dared her... :lol: It's good to see that +4 though, headed down she is.

well Trix...I am not sure if I remember seeing you in pink but if you enjoyed those special dinners, it was worth it for a day! but now it's time to put your green dress back on for Soldiers OTJ party.

I imagine it has to be a challenge to find foods she likes with low phosphorus that don't raise her BG. I have found that not all foods are created equal and a 5% food might raise the BG alot more than an 8%. I know Dr. Lisa says not too get too wrapped up in 5 vs 8%, for example, because they can't guarantee that every batch of food is exactly the same. but I think we all know which foods consistently raise the BG, even if they are LC, and which don't.

Trixie is lucky to have such a dedicated mom to work so hard to find the best food for her. I hope she is doing really well kidney wise. hugs to the whole gang.

I know what you mean, Marje. This food is supposed to be low carb, but it may have some spiking powers with her. She had the same issue with Wellness, too. But, now that our choices are even more restricted because of the phosphorous issue and she really seems to like this one, I'm really leaning towards keeping it at the top of her rotation and compensating with more juice to keep her numbers in check. We shall see what happens over the next day...

Hi Amy, I'm finding the same thing with some of the lower carbs causing a spike, but because they agree with Mags's phosphorus levels, I'll still keep using them. Well, Trixie, so nice you got seconds on din din last night. :lol: That says a lot for the new fuds your dedicated Bean is buying for you. Hope Trixie takes the dose threat seriously and comes down today. Enjoy the chores.

Chores Yuk. 323 Yuk. I don't know which is yukier....I'm gonna go with the chores!!! Glad Trixie got to eat well :-D

I'm thinkin' Miss Trixie knew if she rejected the first offering, you'd leave it down, and she could come back later, and score both meals. Smart girl :lol: What's a little yellow to pay for being a little piggie? :-D

:shock: :o :shock: ...holy crap, what is this cat doing today??? She's never been a rainbow kitty before. Obviously, she takes those dosecrease threats very seriously! Gravy is on board...I sure hope she starts surfing this thing. We'll test again in half an hour, given such a big drop, so early on.

Dinner tonight was Friskies T&G with just a little leftover Paw Lickin' mixed in. Soooo...maybe the Paw Lickin' IS driving her numbers up....further investigation will be required here!

Hi Amy.....wasn't Paw Lickin, the one with potato starch in it? I spent ages this afternoon going back and forth between that and the BFF, so don't remember which is which.

I was surprise that Wellness could spike her. Last week Checks was high all one day and just realized he ate Wellness that whole day. What the heck!!

Miss Trix is looking for double foods again tonight, maybe? :lol:

Hey Trixie, that was quite a day today, and then there's this evening!! I know it's because you want to keep your mamabean on her toes. :lol:
Paw Lickin' Chicken does advertise itself as "chicken in gravy" and it does have potato starch in it (probably to thicken the chicken juice into "gravy"). And still they say 3% carbs. Well, if it tastes so good it might be worth it! I'm planning on picking up a few cans next month when we are in the city.

Phew...got her up a bit. Now, hopefully she'll start surfing.

I know...the can says "gravy" on it, so I was surprised the carb % was so low. I even double-checked the charts with Dr Lisa, and she said the chart that lists fuds by brand is the most up to day, and that Weruva had gotten her updated numbers. Trix has had some good green cycles on Paw Lickin', and some so-so cycles on it, so it's hard to tell what's what with her numbers. Maybe I'll see if she's happy with a blend of Paw Lickin' with Friskies in general...that's what she had for dinner tonight, and look where we are!

Who knows....FD, cats, nadirs, spikes....all moving targets, yes!

She seems to be surfing now, but I did give her just a teeny bit of gravy so I can grab a short nap. Will set alarms and test, though...I won't be far from her!
