Well I had jury duty this morning and had a feeling Curry would decide to drop today. Left out extra food.
They were gonna pick me for the criminal trial that would last 2-3 days. I would have been delighted to serve but I was worried about Curry. The attorneys repeated asked if we had any concerns or scheduling issues but I was embarrassed to say out loud that I had concerns about my cat. Folks just don't understand what we go through or how connected we are to our furbabies. And I just had the nagging feeling they were gonna pick me. I was juror 52 out of 80, but the nagging feeling prompted me to ask to speak w/the judge. Told her I had a diabetic cat that I was concerned about having a hypo event. Said I wouldn't be able to concentrate on what was being said due to the worry. That's the truth so help me God. I had even changed the jury date 3x hoping Curry would be off the insulin by this date. NOT. So a part of me is glad that I wasn't choosen and another part is disappointed that I didn't get this opportunity. However, with my luck and being in my profession, I will get another opportunity for the experience in the future.
Also learned that 50% of the folks sent a jury summons in Houston (Harris County) just don't show. That's sad.
Well she decided to throw out a 36 at +2.5 this evening......I bet she went low this morning as well. Dose reduction tomorrow.
Fueding Felines Update: One of these days I'm gonna tell y'all that Curry and Sidney kissed and made up. Yeah right. How about just tolerate each other's presence w/out attacking one another. So the girls are about 9.5 feet apart while eating. I made the field of vision smaller as we inch closer and closer so as to not overwhelm them. Duct tape, cardboard, and a towel over the babygate. I'm having to get more and more creative as I try to assist them adjust to the closer proximity to one another.
All for now.
