We had a little blip last night in the mid-200s but Cobb brought it back down for this morning's test. Maybe a bit of NDW coupled with a food spike? Who knows.

I got the surprise of my life this morning. We had bad thunderstorms early this morning. Cobb is a scaredy-cat so I fully expected to have to hunt him down for his test and shot. I turn around and he's standing there waiting for me. He must have known it was time for breakfast. I doubt he voluntarily came to get his insulin. :lol:

All 5 P's are in place. Appetite is good. And his weight remains steady at 17.6lbs.

I hope your Monday is off to a drier start than ours is. Hopefully the rain moves out quickly!

I finally got the notes from Cobb's vet visit. I linked them in my signature. Can someone else check to see if it opens correctly? I was using my Google Drive app to share it...and I'm not sure if it shared correctly.

They still don't have the results from MSU for the IAA test. They said MSU usually faxes them over, but I asked that they call since it has been a week and the test should have been run last Tuesday or Wednesday. So...still waiting to hear back on that.

The vet notes does not open - it says one needs permission. ???

The "Vet Notes" page does not open. It says we need permission to view it. Click the box at the top of your document (top right) where says "share" and click on "anyone with the link" .

Cobb looks good this morning. And what a brave boy to ignore the thunderstorm!

I don't know all his little abbreviations but I recognize one.
I see a FORL reference on the teeth.... that's the Feline Odontoclastic Resorptive Lesions info

You definitely want to get those teeth pulled as soon as you can. His FD could improve greatly once those teeth stop causing havoc.

Yes! We have plans to do just that. I need to get an estimate for how much it will be and then schedule it.

Just talked to our vet clinic. They said MSU says the test for IAA lasts 7 days. They got it on April 1, so the earliest they would have results is Wednesday or Friday. Is that right?

Unless MSU has significantly changed things, that is not how it's done. The IAA test I had done was done in a day. The IGF-1 (acro) tests are just run one day each week (Thursday) with results by end of Friday, but I got mine Sunday due to communication delays.

Well, I decided to just take matters into my own hands and called MSU myself.

They have the blood, but aren't running the test until this Wednesday. I hope the blood is still good a week and a half after they take it.

Well, today's numbers came out of nowhere. Wonky day? Maybe today's thunderstorms stressed Cobb out? Wide get a clap of thunder that woke me up this morning when it shook the entire house. My neighbor's house shook as well. I was convinced it was an earthquake. nailbite_smile I don't know how people in California stand it!

We'll see how tomorrow pans out. Hopefully I can chalk up today's numbers to the weather. I did have to pull him out from under the bed for a few tests.

I'm glad you got the answer from MSU. Maybe they only run it one day a week. It took me 11 days to get the blood test results. I did the blood draw one day too late so had to wait for the following weeks IGF-1 testing. You still have the ? icon up - is there another questions?

Maybe Cobb is experiencing a little NDW on top of the thunderstorms. Neko dives for under the bed if she hears a clap of thunder or hail. :roll: It must have been pretty close to shake the house.

re the vet notes - "possible early prognathism" is when the jaw juts out - that's one symptom of acro.

i think "HX ataxia" means a history of ataxia, which means his muscles aren't as well coordinated as they would expect. something like that.

the NSF means something like "nothing significant." i don't remember what the F means.

"very fractious" my personal favorite! go Cobb! show em what you're made of! he's a feisty boy! :lol:

The assessment means that they talked with you about suspected acromegaly, but because SRT was out, you were choosing not to test for it.

Are those the things you were wondering about?

sounds like MSU has changed their testing schedule. good to know.

Those were my questions, yes. If that's one of the early symptoms of acro, then why did she come back and say it's probably not that. That is why I have trouble trusting vets. Why are you (the vet) telling me something to my face different from what you're actually finding?

wish i had the answer for that, suzanne. i don't know. but i'm pretty sure about the things i said above. there were a few other things that i didn't know what they meant, but those i did mention i'm familiar with.

Nope! Only mentioned the two teeth that have FORLs. Didn't even say they needed to come out until I asked point blank, so those need extracting?
