Soooo, today I will check Chrlie in mid cycle to see what's goin on. tomorrow I up to .75 and I know how to get that in the syringe( THANK YOU M.O.M).
The thing is I won't be home all day to monitor his BG... I would be able to check him at +2 and then not until +6 or +7..,
Will the +2 be helpful to me? Or should I just skip it?? I can see if DH will be around at that time.
Thoughts?? :?:

Yep a +2 will at least tell you which way he is going...at +2 he should be slightly higher than preshot value because he will have food on board, onset is normally right around +3 - +4, and nadir should be right around +6 - +7 so those should be perfect times to catch, maybe grab either a +9 -+10 to see if he is rising towards pm preshot.

Heck a mini curve would be testing +3, +6, +9 and preshots.. :-D You are going to be able to get in PLENTY of midcycle tests today to keep him closely monitored, unless he does on the off chance that a run for the basement, then of course you may have to test a little more often, but I expect if that is going to happen it won't happen until late in am cycle if it does, as long as he is rising at +2.

He only had a few bites for breakfast and more of a meal about an hour later...so I'm thinking that's what the 378 is. I'll check him again at +6

The times you can test today are fine, there will be times you'll have to test more often, like Mel says when he 'makes a run for the basement', but that's not likely today (although not impossible, not likely). I personally don't understand testing without warrant, but that's just me, there are too many times it is absolutely necessary, give the cat a break when you can, but that's just MHO.

I remember at least 10 weeks when I never had to worry about Lucian going scuba diving, but the last couple weeks have made up for it. :o Mel and I have come to the conclusion that Lucian is a 'thrill seeker', he likes to climb mountains and go deep sea diving. :lol:

I'm with you on give the cat a break. I'm pretty comfortable saying that he only reaches the HIGH 200s with .5 and I'm not worried about a crash. I tested him more today than I normally would just to get some #s on his ss. The first shot he got 2 weeks ago was from the vet. It was 2u and he crashed later that evening. I learned real fast how to treat a hypo. @-) (thanks to the Angels on this site)

Had I listened to my vet and not done my research, I can bet my boy would not longer be around. But that's another story in itself. :evil:

You were smart enough to do the research and learn how to help your boy live a healthy life, Kudo's !

Hope the dose increase brings him down to some good numbers so he can start to heal, without giving mommabean grey hair! :lol:
