Why, oh why didn't anyone warn me??
Having only ever hosted a kitty 'chillaxin by the fireplace' evening, I was woefully overconfident in my ability to keep up with a sugarcat event.
Silly, Silly Bean!!!

Mannie, Tess, and the kitchen crew were overjoyed to find the collection of copper cookware in the kitchen, and got to work without further ado.
What an amazing array of mouthwatering delectables!

Mocha Jo and Muffin led Maggie and some other discerning ladies off to the wardrobes to help Binks choose the ultimate outfit for the night, an endeavor accompanied by many giggles, gasps of awe, and squeals of excitement (mostly by Binks) .

Moonie, Rusty, Curry, and the Kitty Chorus set up their instruments on the stage in front of the living room dancefloor...and proceeded with a rollicking set of music.
Much to my surprise...Lucy, Jill's Alex, and Gabby led the line dancing!! :o
Tobey, Gizmo, and the rest of the younger kittens quickly found the Jungle Gym in the backyard, and worked off some of their excess excitement under the watchful eye of Polite Officer Putty.

At one point, I passed the breakfast nook, and there was Checkers engaged in peace talks with my Tortie Girls.
The snippet i heard was "He's here...He's Manx...GET USED TO IT!"

Big Mac immediately snagged the laptop, and spent most of the evening surrounded by Tray, Simon, Lanky, Atlas, and Caryl's Alex howling with laughter as they
photoshopped pictures of their beans...hope they saved the results!!

Do Lou and GracieD took Butthead aside in the office for quite awhile, and this morning when I checked, i see that they were addressing the subject of cats mastering
what we humans would consider crippling disabilities, because the new graffiti on the wall says
"I may only have one ear...but my brain still works better than any human's!!! "

Lil G-Money overindulged somewhat...and as she raced for the bathroom with a paw over her mouth, Rocket yelled out
"Hey, Gracie! want someone to hold your ears back????" and the cats almost fell over laughing. JD and Tuffy took pity on her though, and helped sooth her fur
until she was ready to rejoin the festivities.

Spot, Raja, Luna, and Maggie talked with Zoe and the others recently returned from the falls about falling off the wagon...
the subject matter seemed to be focused on "Hey, no worries...it happens sometimes"

Pat's pair tried the twin game for awhile..."I'm Raja, that's Shadow" "No, I'M Raja, and THAT'S Shadow" until Harley quietly pointed out that you should be IDENTICAL twins if you really want that to confuse others.

When midnight approached, the kitties all headed out to the backyard, and I heard Teddy and Tinkles explaining to the others that it doesn't matter what phase the moon is in...it's the heart's desire that brings the parting of The Veil.
Our babies gathered in a huge circle, and began trilling in perfect harmony, eyes raised to the skies.
The sky began to shimmer with the strength of their love, reverence, and longing... and they fell silent as our beloved GA's began one by one to materialize around them.
Latte, Tuscany, Bearman, Stu, Miz Jezebelle and so many of our beloved appeared first...then turned and raised their paws to the heavens. The skies brightened, and our most recent GA's came forth...Tori, Tucker, Blackie, Pelusa, Whiskers, Minuit, Harry, Milo, Maverick, Doodle-bug...and the other babies who have passed recently came to surround the gathering with their love and reassurance.

And I can't think of a better note to end the party description on...

I laughed, I cried...

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness...

I love it Celi!
I can't tell if my tears are from crying or laughing, probably both.

Awesome! It does make you realize that we/they are all part of one big caring community. On earth or as a GA, they all mean so much to everyone and will never be forgotten!

I was actually expecting a picture with all of the kitties together, but this was better! Leaves the door open for my imagination to run wild!

Celi,

What an amazing description of the party - so many tears - I can't tell if they are from laughing until I cried or crying until I laughed. Thank you for the description - and Zoe is hoping to get back "on the wagon"

What CD said.

Celi, you have such a gift.
Just simply wonderful. I can picture it all as if I was sitting in the living room
watching it all unfold in front of me.

Thank you.

Celi my friend...you have outdone yourself...and in true Celi nature, you made sure to include everyone. Your descriptions had us both laughing and you are supremely eloquent when remembering the GAs. Love you girl!

Celi, thank you, thank you, thank you! What a talent you have to make us smile, laugh out loud, and then bring us back to a quiet remembrance of all our beloved GA kitties. You are amazing.

Oh Celi, that was just beautiful! I could visualize all the celebrating right down to the special remembrance of our GA kitties. Like the others said, you have a gift of writing. Hugs to you and the Binkster!

Ohhhhh Celi.
I have goose bumps, and tears from laughing and crying. You are amazing in your gift for making people feel good.
I was there at the party, through your awesome imagination.
It was wonderful seeing all our angel kitties back again, having fun, dancing and singing.
Thank you, my friend, thank you.

Absolutely adorable. One request, next time, please give fair warning. I laughed so hard and cried I thought I should run out and get some Depends. Bless you.

My heart caught and the tears started seeing Tuscany's name - it is nice to have her remembered. I hope she was smiling...... Thanks Celi.

Celi, you have made everyone here have a happier day, made us laugh,Made us cry--
You KNOW you can Never leave us girl!! It is true--Or we'll come lookin for you!
A beautiful description of happiness & tears on the night we celebrate Binks OTJ! Always remembering our GA babies-Lantus land is indeed a magical place, and better for having you in it--We love you!! Always!

I have been without internet all day today I know the horror  anyway I come to the board just now and this is the first thing I read and Celi I just want you to know how much this post made me laugh cry and smile you are so talented.....((((((Celi and Binks))))))

What a super post you wrote and you need to make sure you stick around or we will all go into Celi withdrawal :-D

Celi! This was beautiful....

Ah...we all should never forget friendships formed here and with our feline companions.

Celi, I think I felt every emotion possible while reading your wonderful and lifelike story.
I know it has been said before but you should really consider writing....especially children's stories. You bring so much life with your words it is truly a gift that I am so happy to be a part of.

well, i conveniently left out the cleanup description, because when they get together...
these wonderful little buggers end their parties without leaving a trace!

it's the heart's desire that brings the parting of The Veil.

So beautiful. Thank you!

I hope Kitty was in the Kitty chorus. He doesn't have much of a meow, but he can howl. He was probably in the bass section.

Oh, my sniff sniff sniff at the ending of your post, Celi. Sounds like our kitties had a wonderful time. I'm glad that Spot could make it!

actually, miriam, my dad was a very gifted writer...he wrote children's stories that Cat Stevens (before he was Yusuf Islam) bought the publishing rights for...
but my dad had "follow through" issues...so i have the stories here...
they are really good! :-D

thanks for the compliments!
