Why, oh why didn't anyone warn me??
Having only ever hosted a kitty 'chillaxin by the fireplace' evening, I was woefully overconfident in my ability to keep up with a sugarcat event.
Silly, Silly Bean!!!
Mannie, Tess, and the kitchen crew were overjoyed to find the collection of copper cookware in the kitchen, and got to work without further ado.
What an amazing array of mouthwatering delectables!
Mocha Jo and Muffin led Maggie and some other discerning ladies off to the wardrobes to help Binks choose the ultimate outfit for the night, an endeavor accompanied by many giggles, gasps of awe, and squeals of excitement (mostly by Binks) .
Moonie, Rusty, Curry, and the Kitty Chorus set up their instruments on the stage in front of the living room dancefloor...and proceeded with a rollicking set of music.
Much to my surprise...Lucy, Jill's Alex, and Gabby led the line dancing!!
Tobey, Gizmo, and the rest of the younger kittens quickly found the Jungle Gym in the backyard, and worked off some of their excess excitement under the watchful eye of Polite Officer Putty.
At one point, I passed the breakfast nook, and there was Checkers engaged in peace talks with my Tortie Girls.
The snippet i heard was "He's here...He's Manx...GET USED TO IT!"
Big Mac immediately snagged the laptop, and spent most of the evening surrounded by Tray, Simon, Lanky, Atlas, and Caryl's Alex howling with laughter as they
photoshopped pictures of their beans...hope they saved the results!!
Do Lou and GracieD took Butthead aside in the office for quite awhile, and this morning when I checked, i see that they were addressing the subject of cats mastering
what we humans would consider crippling disabilities, because the new graffiti on the wall says
"I may only have one ear...but my brain still works better than any human's!!! "
Lil G-Money overindulged somewhat...and as she raced for the bathroom with a paw over her mouth, Rocket yelled out
"Hey, Gracie! want someone to hold your ears back????" and the cats almost fell over laughing. JD and Tuffy took pity on her though, and helped sooth her fur
until she was ready to rejoin the festivities.
Spot, Raja, Luna, and Maggie talked with Zoe and the others recently returned from the falls about falling off the wagon...
the subject matter seemed to be focused on "Hey, no worries...it happens sometimes"
Pat's pair tried the twin game for awhile..."I'm Raja, that's Shadow" "No, I'M Raja, and THAT'S Shadow" until Harley quietly pointed out that you should be IDENTICAL twins if you really want that to confuse others.
When midnight approached, the kitties all headed out to the backyard, and I heard Teddy and Tinkles explaining to the others that it doesn't matter what phase the moon is in...it's the heart's desire that brings the parting of The Veil.
Our babies gathered in a huge circle, and began trilling in perfect harmony, eyes raised to the skies.
The sky began to shimmer with the strength of their love, reverence, and longing... and they fell silent as our beloved GA's began one by one to materialize around them.
Latte, Tuscany, Bearman, Stu, Miz Jezebelle and so many of our beloved appeared first...then turned and raised their paws to the heavens. The skies brightened, and our most recent GA's came forth...Tori, Tucker, Blackie, Pelusa, Whiskers, Minuit, Harry, Milo, Maverick, Doodle-bug...and the other babies who have passed recently came to surround the gathering with their love and reassurance.
And I can't think of a better note to end the party description on...
