Yesterday's Wake Up Call
Cinco Apparently had so much fun in the lagoon yesterday that he decided on a quick trip back today. Too bad he didn't stay longer, but since I wasn't home, I'm grateful he didn't venture out too far. DH was here and got the +6.5 for me. So maybe we can keep the 1.0 this time around, but that leads me to wonder what to tell Dawn to shoot over the weekend? I guess we'll have to see how the next couple of days go.
Minka had an acupuncture appointment today. She did not want to eat breakfast - I tried four different flavors. I did get her fluids in her before we left, and I took a litter box along with us. After the appointment, when we got back in the car, I put her in the litter box and she stood there a moment, then climbed out and laid down behind it. She seemed perfectly happy there and stayed there until I stopped for a sandwich. When I got back in the car, she was VERY interested in my lunch and I shared some turkey with her, which she ate happily. She never did use the box, but she didn't pee anywhere else, either, so I call it a win. I think we'll take the box with us on all future vet trips, since the drive is always at least 40 minute each way. When we got home she refused two more flavors of food. I knew she wasn't nauseated, 'cause she ate my turkey, so I syringed about 11 ml of the Purina NF. She didn't resist at all and even purred a little. I don't know what's up with her today. I'm debating about trying some Cypro later. It's so weird, because she's been eating so well the past few days. I guess I didn't say "anti-jinx" enough times!
Sasha required some coaxing, but she ate her breakfast, and when we got home she took care of one of the plates of food Minka rejected. I'm going up to take another stab at getting her to accept the mask. Dr. Codde (her regular vet) poked her head in during the Minka's acupuncture treatment to ask about Sasha and she said I could continue the Pred another two days before switching to every other, to give her more time to get used to the inhaler. I just love what it does for her appetite!
Harvey couldn't be caught before I left, but he was easy pickings when I got home (I just put food in his bowl and nailed him when he came to get it), so his pills were late, but he got them. Don't worry, Marilyn - he isn't losing his fighting spirit. He had just woken up from a nap and was still pretty sleepy.
I hope everyone is having a good Monday.
Sending healing vines to all in need, especially Scooter, Shadow, DoLou, Tess, Billie and Doodle, and hugs to all their beans, especially Linda, Rhiannon, Lisa, Ann & John, Deanna and Jennifer.
Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, DH and DGD, Lisa's DF, Marje's DM and Elise's DM.
