Well into the pinks again this morning after yesterday’s yellow PMPS. Hoping for a repeat of yesterday evening tonight.

No more tests for today until PMPS. My wife is starting to learn the ropes on testing. She’s starting with applying pressure to the ear after I poke and collect the sample. We’ll work everyone up towards the full process over the next few days.

And we're back up just over 300. Guess today's another fairly high and flat day.

Should I be planning on an increase to 6 tomorrow evening?

Pumpkin just peed really far away from her litter box, something she's never done in the 13 years I've had her.

Her litter box is in my bathroom (we have a small apartment so it's the best place for it). I was in there with the door closed, but not for very long. When I came out, I heard some rustling coming from the entry hallway. I went down, and found Pumpkin perched on my boots, peeing. This was farther away from where she normally hangs out than my bathroom is, so other than me being in there it wasn't any more convenient for her than her actual litter box.

She's never done anything like this. She's pooped next to the litter box once in a blue moon, but never peed.

I use Dr. Elsey's Ultra cat litter. She has a very large litterbox without a top. I'm cleaning her litter box every day, and I'd done so just an hour before this happened. I have noticed her paws getting dirty sometimes because she doesn't always cover per pee anymore, and then can sometimes step on it on the way in or out.

I can move to cleaning her litterbox twice a day to try to make it more comfortable for her.

Anything I should be worried about or looking into?

Yes. Looks like you can go up to 6U after 6 cycles on this dose.

Maybe she just wanted to go really badly and couldn't get to her LB? Bandit went on our bed once when the LB was inaccessible. Just that once in her entire life of 14+ years. I wouldn't worry about it just yet.

I had to add an extra litter box in the house for Neko, but had the room to do so. I had a second cat, so needed to make sure she always had access to one when needed. When the numbers come down, and peeing is less, it's not so much a problem. I didn't like using clay litter, in case paws needed to be licked. And I scooped twice a day, well actually, whenever I saw it dirty. I'm well trained.

Any chance Pumpkin has arthritis? Many older cats do. Maybe the box has taller sides than are comfy jumping over? Some boxes have an entry or lower side.

I'm hoping it's just a one time. If you see it more, maybe a UTI? They can be more common if sugars are higher.

Pumpkin definitely has arthritis (she tore an ACL like 6 years ago, which led to arthritis a few years ago). Her litter box has an entry so she barely needs to step up to get in.

I guess I'll monitor for now and do my best to be brief when I use her bathroom.

I'm also making an appointment with a new vet because her current one isn't getting back to me about the dental and blood tests I've asked to look into.
