Question: do you think 2 or 3 kibbles of Young Again Zero carb dry food is an OK treat to use during testing/curves?
It's the only high value/motivating treat I have for her at the moment and she hates her ears being touched almost as much as her paw pads. Even if we got off dry as a meal completely, I'd like to use these as treats if nobody sees an issue.
Question: I bought a Relion Classic to replace my TruMetrix (TM is rechargeable but its not charging reliably). Do I just note it on my Sheet and switch over? The numbers have been slightly (20-30) higher on the Relion when testing using the same drop of blood yesterday, do you think those are more accurate numbers? I hate to think my baby may have been over 300 many times without me knowing.
Other less important stuff:
Unfortunately my night off got Interrupted and I wasn't able to get more readings after her +3 204, which was indeed MUCH lower than daytime. It killed me not to be able to run home and retest at +6 to try to find the lowest point. I knew everyone was right about BG going lower in the PM but I wasn't expecting such a large difference. That will show me!! To make matters more interesting, PM may have been a fur shot (I'm using the last of my pen needles so I prime 2 units and sometimes the base of the needle gets wet. Could have been that I felt in her fur; I haven't had a fur shot ever and I was doing everything the same as usual, but didn't wipe the base of the needle as I sometimes do.)
I may have to change her cycle times to make it slightly easier for me to be at home when PM tests would be most informative, this particular timing is just not working with my other caretaking obligation now that it's even more obviously important to me to get these numbers. I know it was always obvious to you guys and I'm glad I was not stupid enough to put off taking your good advice until much later, but still annoyed at myself that I put it off till now.
Fortiflora arrives today, hopefully the Young Again Zero will be out of the picture (as a meal) soon!
