Yesterday's Condo

Well, I certainly woke up in a hurry today! DH neglected to call and warn me how low Cinco's AMPS was, or I'd have gotten up sooner to check him. As it is, we have a reducie, I guess. We'll have to see if he holds it. I actually got 31 on the first test

and tested again and got 35, so I took the average of 33. Still an eye-opener!! He came up nicely with a little Cowboy Cookout. Silly cat was sound asleep when I came down, so I had no inkling what was in store for me. He did not act one bit different from usual - as if he throws 30s all the time!

:D

Minka and Sasha ate well, even though I've been giving them Evo 95% Chicken and Turkey fairly frequently (this was one of the "good for her" foods Minka had been refusing). I don't know if it's the acupuncture or the herbal supplement, or both, but (HUGE ANTI-JINX), Minka has been eating very well the past few days, without Cypro or Mirtz! :):):)

I tried the inhaler last night on Sasha, and I guess it was too soon - it scared her. I'll go back to just the Aerokat without the inhaler for the next session, and then I think I'll try squirting it before I put it on her face, so she gets used to the sound but doesn't feel anything. She probably inhaled a little of it, and I don't know if that was a factor, but she seems a tiny bit better today. We back the Pred down to one a day today, so we'll see if that makes her worse again. Hope not.

Harvey is still being Harvey, but he's getting better and better about the cat sack. Still has jaws of iron, but he does love all the kisses and scritches that accompany the torture.

Company comes Thursday night (DS and her DBF's DDIL) for our annual wine tasting weekend, so I have lots of chores to do around the house to get ready. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Easter. It's just the two of us and the cats. We're going to throw something on the grill, provided the rain that keeps starting and stopping allows us. So far it's only been a drizzle. The heavy stuff is supposed to be Tuesday. Bring it on!

Sending healing vines to all in need, especially Scooter, Shadow, DoLou, Tess, Billie and Doodle, and hugs to all their beans, especially Linda, Rhiannon, Lisa, Ann & John, Deanna and Jennifer. :bighug: Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, DH and DGD, Lisa's DF, Marje's DM and Elise's DM.

Wowza Cinco! Skooter does the same thing when super low.....does not give one single inkling that he is low....

Nice catch and congrats on the reducie!!!!

Glad to hear appys are back as well for da girlz....

Just me and Skoots for the rest of the day.....tons to get done here as well....

Have a great day!

WOW! When Cinco wants to do something, he sure does it in dramatic fashion!!

Has your heart stopped racing yet?

It's so wonderful to hear the girls are eating so much better! Sure makes your life a lot easier and less worrying!

Hope the rain stays away so you can do your grilling!

Wow Cinco. A 31? Really? Good luck with the reducie. Lucky you got some rain like you wanted. They say we might Tuesday to Wednesday but I will believe it if I see it. Surf safely Cinco. Sorry Max didn't join you. He was waving from above.

Dramarama! Great to see that Minka and Sasha have happy appys (anti-jinx). :) Harvey in a cat sack? I've been missing a few condos.
Liz

What a way to wake up. I'm glad Cinco came back up so easily. Great news that the girls are eating. I hope Sasha gets used to the inhaler.

Happy Easter.

Cinco! A 31!!! That'll get the bean's attention! Shesssssss, kid. No need for such dramatics. A nice low 40 will do.

Glad to see the girls are eating. (anti-jinx) Whew.

And, yes, I'm glad Harvey finds the cat sack less squirm-away from. I guess. ;)

Enjoy your evening.

Marilyn and Polly

Whoa there Cinco!! Congrats on the reducie, and what a way to earn it..:nailbiting:. Glad the girl kitties are eating well. Lots of vines for Sasha, and paws crossed she continues doing better with the inhaler. Wine tasting weekend sounds like fun! Hope you got to grill today and all went well with it. Have a nice evening:)

Thanks for spending some of your Easter with us, Wendy, Molly, Chris, Elise, Liz, Laura, Carla, Marilyn and Serryn (although I guess Easter is over at your house, Serryn?).

The girls continued nibbling through the day, so paws crossed that they'll eat their dinners, too.

@Chris & China, I was amazed at how calm I felt. It was something of an out of body experience, actually. I probably would have been more shook up if he hadn't come up right away, or if he was acting strangely.

The rain wasn't much - just enough to make spots on my black car. :( I'm hoping the Monday night/Tuesday predictions are true. Meanwhile, we're clear to fire up the grill. Shish-ka-bobs with tri tip are on the menu. The meat is marinating in the fridge and I have to run to the store to get the veggies shortly. How lucky for last minute me that so many stores are open on Easter these days!

@pollydoodle, don't worry. Harvey has not lost any of his feisty personality. I think he's just decided that he likes the extra attention and it's better to save his strength for trying to keep his mouth closed! You'd still love him. I'll try to get a photo of him in the sack, @Anne & Zener (GA) (Liz).

@tiffmaxee, I'm hoping we won't have a bounce tonight, and then maybe Max and Cinco can meet up in the lagoon for a moonlight swim. One can always hope....

Whoa! looks what happens when everyone sleeping Cinco!
Tricia you must have been very surprised at that 31. Glad it worked out ok though.

Happy Easter to you all!

Yikes on the 30s!! Cinco, you made your point!

You can definitely squirt the inhaler first, then put the Aerokat on Sasha's face - that is what I do with Billie. The chamber is sealed well enough that no medicine should escape. I usually do the squirting part in front of Billie so she can see what's happening. She is used to it now, but in the beginning, I think the noise of the inhaler startled her if she couldn't see where it was coming from.

Also, I found a sort of "sweet spot" positioning for Billie that I'll share in case it works for Sasha - I have Billie sit on a chair or counter facing away from me. I hold the Aerokat with my right hand (I'm right handed) and keep my left hand on her chest for support and also to pet her/give scritches for some distraction. I get close behind her so if she leans her head back, she ends up leaning against me which keeps her from jerking her head around. It will definitely get easier! Let me know if you need anything.

Thanks, Deanna. I appreciate every tip. Sasha was definitely spooked when I squirted it, and that set us back some. I'll have to try again, more slowly this time. For the millionth time, I wish we could just explain to them that this will make them feel better!!

@Linda and Scooter & Jack, it did surprise me! I even retested to be sure, but it was for real! Now we are stuck on the yellow floor. Good thing DH is working from home tomorrow, because Minka has an acupuncture appt. at noon. Flat yellow usually means activity next cycle. Just so it isn't tomorrow night, right Cinco??
