Realizing I should have definitely fed him at +1! Did give him a bit higher carb food at +2 and +2.5...maybe a bit too much given he's bumped back up at +3.5. Will see how he's looking at +4.

Yeah, I wasn’t sure since he’d kind of dipped slightly before rising earlier in the day. Is it usually best to wait and/or skinny up his dose in those cases, or is it just better to stick to his usual time/dose and help ease his descent with food?

You just want to feed the curve to prevent dives. No need to change doses. Dosing is based on nadirs and not preshots. And with a depot insulin like Lantus, the previous depot will continue to influence the cycle.
