4/3 condo http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/4-3-shadow-ambg-187.135621/
4/2 condo http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/4-2-shadow-ambg-204-6-224-going-to-prednisolone.135560/

hmmm.... I"m not getting....
TA: For the fancy link, first copy the URL of the old condo, then type in the word(s) in the post that you want to be the link, select them, then press the chain icon. Enter the URL in the pop up box.

how do I select the words... i enter the url in the pop up box already.....

anyway,

293 this morning....
just a small teaspoon size blob of liquipoo this morning....
guess that stuff is working now... finally , something.....

Shadow didn't eat her night time kangaroo... just grazed the white cheese I put on top....
gave her more kangaroo this morning... with some freeze dried duck heart to get her to eat.

If I could only have had a camera, when she saw it was kangaroo offered again, she walked to the
end of the bed, looked back at me with a "how dare you serve that again, go to hell " look and
jumped off the bed and left.
My dh always gives her first breffis, and sets it by my pillow....

guess she's getting lessons from Gracie ....

I'm thinking I definitely start shooting when we hit the pink floor.....

I woke up thinking that my vet said she will be on prednisolone indefinitely .
I was thinking this would be short term depending on how Shadow's intestine responds.
Is this a permanent fix? ( bandaid)

and I guess we'll start with the 1 drop dose.... or do you think I should start with 0.5 u ?

No dose advice, but for the link:

1. Type whatever you want to call it: Yesterday's Condo.
2. Using either your mouse or your shift and arrow buttons, highlight those words.
3. In a separate tab, bring up the old condo and copy the URL.
4. Return to new condo and click on the chain icon at the top (third box from left, first image).
5. When the box opens, paste the URL in it and click Insert.

That should do it.

I'm glad the liquid poo seems to be lessening. Pred is indeed scary because of FD, but if that's what it takes to keep Shadow comfortable, I guess it's a necessary evil. Harvey is on it for life and I am terrified he'll end up with FD. He would be VERY hard to test and/or shoot.

Sending appy vines.:bighug:

I think I should start tonight....
she's 315 @ +10....

just keeps going up....
she doesn't want any kangaroo ....
so i opened some rabbit .... and will probably have to give her a pill to get her to eat it....

I think I'll start at a tiny drop, especially if she's not going to eat.

If it were me, I'd start her at no less than 1u; I know pred is at play but we've often found with cats returning from remission that they go up higher in dose than the first time around. She was already getting up to 260 before pred.

If you really think you can't get her to eat, you could try 0.5u and syringe feed her. You are an experienced caregiver and you want to get her back into remission. Something was at play before the pred.......

well....
i'm going to be cautious tonight....
I'm going to start with 0.25u....
just because she might not eat....

I can go up if it doesn't register.... but my gut tells me it might.....

Well, Shadow.....maybe you do just want a touch of insulin. I'd go with my gut, Rhiannon. You are there with her and know how much she's eating, etc. if you just want to shoot 0.1u and see how she does, then you can always fast track her if necessary.

i went with 0.25...

it made her very upset...
I used to always have shrimp in her bowl so she was at least distracted.... enough.....
and she was hungry which she isn't now.

Awwwww Shadow did that nasty needle come out again, don't be upset, you know mombean wouldn't do that if it wasn't best for you. I'm sending you some scritches, and some for mom because she's probably more traumatised than you are really! You remember what to do with that juice - work it baby work it!

Keeping all paws crossed here. :bighug: Sending appy vines - sorry to hear she's off kangaroo already.

Sending lots of vines to you and Shadow!! I hope the juice helps her out. Sorry to hear that the shot upset her.

This is just a thought, but maybe inflammation/upset from the diarrhea spiked her BG before the pred? When Billie's asthma first flared up and there was significant inflammation in her lungs, her BGs got way higher - lots of pink. Then, she started on pred, and her BGs actually lowered once the pred kicked in and helped with the inflammation. I guess it's hard to figure out knowing inflammation and pred can both cause high BGs, but I think that 138 is a good sign. I'm glad that her diarrhea is not as bad as it was.
