Good Morning All! Sabrina had a good night & ate a hearty breakfast this morning :smile: Maybe I'm jumping the gun but brought her dose back up to 1.00U...I didn't like her AMBG being so high & I have nowhere to go today...so I'll do frequent checks throughout the day & post. I do think you jumped the gun. Remember...we don't dose on the pre shot. Sabrina is bouncing from the lower numbers.
The other thing I need to caution you against is raising the dose when you haven't got spot checks. You could get her seriously overdosed and then she could come crashing down on you. If you are not grabbing a before bed test, you could be missing a clue that numbers are coming down. I wonder how low she got last night and the night before because she bounced so high yesterday morning and this morning. She was clearing a bounce last night. She actually looks to me like she might be clearing one tonight and if you consider the extra juice....it's possible she will come down with a little more gusto. Please be sure and do a couple spot checks...at least a +2 and a before bed.
Think of lantus as a cruise ship. You can turn the wheel but it takes time to change course. So you have to be patient. Bounces can take up to six cycles to clear; but you can't tell if she's clearing if you don't get a spot check at night. If you could get a before bed and then possibly a +11 before her AMPS like you were doing, that would give some clues.
I'd leave her dose right now but please test a little more so you don't wake up to another 44. Thanks, Cindy
