Good afternoon,

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=116604&p=1225088#p1225088

I am not certain, but I think both Rocky and I had what is called a "very active night?" haha_smiley

OMG. Yowza. I was up all night long because I got so worried with the dosecrease to 2.50u that Rocky would touch 50 and then I'd have to give him a reducie. I fell asleep and then was up every hour. I tell you what-- that sure does makes for some interesting dreams, although I cannot remember any of them now.

Rocky's BG saw TWO GREEN NUMBERS over night!! :RAHCAT At 3 and 4 o'clock in the morning. ohmygod_smile I-)

And then he had a very long stretch of blue numbers all night long, and a blue AMPS this morning of 135. He hasn't seen a blue AMPS since 3/27.

I HATE that I am probably going to screw everything up for Rocky tomorrow in my efforts to get his BG down to a longer string of lower numbers. Tomorrow will be a crazy busy day for me.

I have to drive one cat and 4 kittens for vetting up to the sanctuary for vetting tomorrow morning, and then rush back home to feed and walk my friend's dog. My friend is at an all day church event and I promised her that I would take care of her dog. I then I have to rush back up to the sanctuary, (an hours drive from me), pick up the cats, drop them off back at my house and get them settled in, then rush right back to my friend's house to feed and walk her dog at 5:30pm.

I am very worried about Rocky going too low when I am gone because I am not going to be able to monitor him very closely tomorrow during the day, and even up until 8pm at night. After I'm done caring for my friend's dog I will do my feral cat rounds and that usually takes me about one hour and a half. Yes, there are many nights when I do not get to eat dinner because I take care of so many animals..

On the other hand, Rocky could be bouncing into the 500s all day long. We all know that his liver  does like to get everything "even-steven" for having those blue and green numbers.

Rocky's recap for yesterday:
AMPS 296 +2 337 +7 268 +11 272
PMPS 292 +1 318 +3 184 +5 102 +6 92 +7 83 +8 102 +9 105 +11 124

Re: 4/4 Rocky AMPS 135 +2 268 +4 217 +6 200

he's looking pretty good today after that run last night. was that the extent of his bounce? just a lame little 268 today? ;-)

well let's hope so.

if i were you, i'd shed some responsibilities . . . sounds too stressful. we only get one life. :-D

hope your evening is easier and Rocky doesn't bounce any more than this. wouldn't that be great?!? I'd continue trying to keep him from getting a reduction. it seems like the little bit of extra insulin may be able to hold down some of the highs. great to see the blue amps this morning.

Re: 4/4 Rocky PMPS 140

Wow!! Before tonight, Rocky has not had a BLUE PMPS since January 14, 2014. @-)

I hope I can help to keep Rocky's BG lower like this.. I think a lot of it is managing to catch those greens numbers, but I'm still not sure when to feed him the carbs so that he doesn't drop to 50.

Julie, it would be really great if that this afternoon's 268 was as high as he will go.. we'll see what tonight holds. I haven't taken another reading since his PMPS.

Some other good news is that the sanctuary got too busy to do my cat spay/neuters tomorrow, so the only driving around I need to do now is feed and walk my friend's dog 2x and then my normal feral cat rounds before dark. Whew.. I needed that break. :-D

Re: 4/4 Rocky PMPS 140

WOO HOO Rocky!!

Nice cycles today Tina!!

To try to keep him from going below 50, you want to feed him if he's starting to drop and it's still before his usual nadir. Sometimes a little food can get them up on their surfboard instead of continuing to drop. I usually start feeding if China drops into the 60's if it's before about +6...after that she's usually on the way up since the Lantus is starting to wear off, but ECID!
