Appears Molly-girl isn't feeling so well today

AMPS 151 - had to prompt her to eat, shot 2.25u. 10 minutes later she threw up white foam. Seemed okay afterwards and went back to bed.

She continuously tried to wake me up (something very unlike her!) At +4.5 she came into the bedroom and threw up more white foam (Molly is not a pukey cat, this is prob the 4th time she's ever thrown up). Tested her and she's 67 @ +4.5. Yikes! Prompted her to eat more of her breakfast that was left over. Opened the cat door for the boys to go out and Molly ran out with them, right to the grass where she is grazing like a cow. I am not stopping her from eating grass thinking that if she has a hairball or something and needs to get it up, the grass will help.

Will test again in a few minutes but so far it's:

+4.5 67

Well, her BGs are in normal range. What's her nadir hour again? That's the time I get concerned with a non-eating cat.

Let's see if the grass helps her. If she's active and not acting sick, it's probably temporary. How's her poop? No diet change right?

Not sure about the white foam. No food came up?

Perhaps post on Health if it continues. Do you have any Pepcid AC? Dose is 1/4 tablet BID.

Thanks Vicky.

Nadir is between +7 and +9 -she's never been consistent.

Her behavior is typical and no, there has not been a diet change. I will stay home to babysit her but i have to admit i'm a little disapointed as it's Easter and i have/had plans.

Test time.

Can't believe we're this close the 11th hour and she's still at 66!

This is why I call Levemir the Gentle Giant. It's also why sometimes it's better on 40's/50s to just make sure they eat and it's low carb than pump them full of high carb or Karo. But those of us experienced with low numbers should make that decision, not newbies.

Hey, Michele, you're one of those so experienced!! You did good!!

(why thanks for the vote of confidence Vicky! Glad i didn't bust out the HC)

Welp, it's a little over 12 hours since her last injection and she's 69. So confused!

Need to feed everyone - i'm open to suggestions (and would appreciate it) about how to proceed. Wait until she's what number and shoot what? hmmm.

Thanks

Eating should bring her number up to a safe-to-shoot level. I guess that's over 100 for you?

Half 2.25U? Or maybe 1.5U? 1.5U would probably not drop her so much that you couldn't shoot in AM, which is another possibility/problem.

She ate dinner @ +12 (plus, she's been eating all day).

It's now +13 and she's 74. I have never seen anything like this with Molly - this is atypical for sure.

+14 ~93.

No idea what to do with this animal!

Thinking i'm going to wait until she hits 100 and then give a small token amount.

Happy (cursing) Easter in which i had to cancel my plans - finallly went to the supermarket to get some food only to find it closed at 3 (of course i showed up at 3:20!), and have been testing and testing and still have no food. Anyone have a chocolate bunny and some peanut butter to share? Grr!

I'm sorry the day was a disappointment for you. But I'm proud of you for sticking around and helping your girl.

Why open on Easter if you're going to close at 3pm?? By then everyone NEEDS to get something!!
