Good Morning LL, and a very special day here! Leo's 1 Year Annifursary OnTJ :-D

Leo decided to celebrate his special day by bouncing :roll: :lol: 1 year ago today i started Leo on Lantus, i was terrified and had no idea what i was doing. Leo's old vetty had told me a few days prior that he had been dx with FD so i had a few days to do some research on my own, we all know the usual "i typed in feline diabetes into google search and it led me to FDMB" Luckily the kind people over in Health encouraged me to switch Leo to some LC wet food and start testing before i ever gave that first shot. It is a happy day for me, i wouldn't trade his dx for anything, its brought us so much closer together and made me appreciate him so much more. Leo also brought me and my parents closer than we have ever been, the love everyone in my family has for him is amazing :-D

Leo is a happy healthy kitty these days, a huge change from the poor skinny, greasy, starving kitty he was when i took him to the vet. It's been a crazy wild ride that FD has taken us on in the last year, we went from being very well regulated to him having a dental with extractions followed by a bout of pancreatitis and now increase after increase and still no regulation. Leo has taught me the true meaning of perfect trust, has taught me so much patience and shown me endless amounts of love as well. :YMHUG: I love my kitty!!!

Happy Annifursary Leo & Tracy!!!​

Isn't it amazing what a year does? I know I would never be as close to Tarragon as I am now without the diagnosis. What a wonderful thing that Leo has brought you and your parents closer and the bond you and Leo have is incredible. It is a definitely something to celebrate! Leo will get regulated, even though I am not quite sure what that means since Tarragon is no where near either. I am celebrating with you because without Leo's diagnosis, we would never have become friends, actually family.

Happy Anniversary!!! FD is definitely such a bittersweet diagnosis, but as time goes by, I'm finding it to be more "sweet" than "bitter". Enjoy your special day!!

(And clear that bounce, young man!!)

We love Leo too! What a nice WCR this is. I so understand that bond that you write about - no one wants FD, but the nice benefit of it all is the closeness that it creates between us and our kitty. You have done so well with him. ENJOY this very special day! :-D :-D :cool:

What a great experience! Thanks for the sharing.
I am still struggling with Rosy, Dx in Christmas last yr. Hope I can learn from your path & enjoy it a bit on the roller coaster ride!

Wow, that year really flew by! When you're with family you're always having fun. Leo may not be "regulated", but he's doing just fine and, most important, he's enjoying his life; and you and your parents and Leo have a special bond. So here's to your new year, Tracy & Leo: drinking24 drinking24

We love leo's report and are so happy you guys are here with us .. and giving us updates on leo and his mouse catching days .. it really does bring a smile to my face to think of leo the great out doing his thing!!

Tracy - We live in "tornado alley." It is tornado season here and will be until June. You are welcome. We love you both sooooo much!

FD isn't what any of us want for our furbabies, but FDMB is a miracle. You are so right about how our lives change for the better because of it. LL is a better place w/ you and Leo AND his DGP in it! :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Leo has spent his annifursary afternoon outside playing up a storm, its windy here and he's been chasing leaves all around the yard and rolling around in the dirt :roll: He must be itching for another bath!! i've noticed since we've moved that he's much more playful......must be because he actually has a yard to play in! :-D
