Good morning and what a beautiful day. I made a conscious decision last night and did a little increase, so far it paid off. I couldn't stand him being on that high pink floor. Paws crossed that this will work. Had a good test and shoot. He's my happy boy again this morning and good to see. Looks like he had a small hairball. I wish I could have gotten a +7 or something last night, but starting with a migraine and apparently my 'pill' knocked me stupid. Slept right through the night but he ate what I had set out so that's good. All Ps in place - did I say that already??

He appears to like the food that I got this weekend that is just a little bit higher in carb/calories. I need him to put back the weight he lost which was a pound and is a lot for him. Instead of feeding him 4-5% I bumped it to 7-8%. Doesn't seem to be hurting his numbers. I know the 10% was a little too much. Last time at the vet - before the ketone episode - he weight 12.25 lbs. At the ER hospital he weighed 10.99 pounds. He felt lighter, it just didn't register with me. Bad mom!!

Wishing everyone good numbers, safe surfs and healing vines to those that need them!!!

Kat asked the question last night on how he got his name. Here goes. I wanted another cat really bad. The other one we had was attacked by a sick feral and she was injured badly and he had an infection he passed to her. I had to put her down. 5 years later - DH gave me a 'coupon' for another cat. I went up to the shelter and found my little guy - he was 7 weeks old. I played with him for a week, visiting every day. DH wanted an 'all boy' cat. Finally he went with me. I didn't tell him what kitten I had been spending time with. When we got there Scratchie was climbing the glass to get to me. He was one of the ones that DH picked to 'bond' with. We took 3 in the playroom. Scratchie was all over the place - climbing, jumping absolutely full of life and fun! When he wore himself up he climbed up in DH's lap and fell asleep! DH looked at me - said this is the one (thank god) and said his name will be 'Scratchie' as I love how he climbed to the top of the post!!!

Have a fabulous day you guys and thanks for all the support!!!

That's a fantastic story of how Scratchie got his name! Thanks so much for sharing. I read through it 3 times!!!! Especially loved the part where tuckered out kitty fell asleep in DH's lap. That was the clincher.

It's always nice if you can do a little bonding with a kitty before you bring them home from the shelter. I did that with my little semi-feral foster Delta. She used to hide in a closet/cabinet at the shelter and I would sit on the floor to lure her out for some attention. I think that little bit of 'oh, I remember this nice lady that likes to pet me on my terms' made the settling in at her new home a little easier.

Come on Scratchie come on down and at least bask in the yellow Sun today, even if you still can't make it to the Blue Lagoon just yet.

Scratchie is just keeping Lucian company this morning. That pink floor? Isn't that where the Gentleman's Club is? They must be hanging there, it's a Guy Thing'. ;-)

Hoping to see some better numbers soon, Jo. I'm happy he's feeling better.

There are some cats that do better on a higher LOW carb food. And as Dr. Lisa says, you can't get too wrapped up in the difference between 4% and 8% because it can very batch to batch if the same food.

Cute story on the naming!

Good luck with the dosecrease. I hope it brings more yellow and blue soon. I hope the new food helps Scratchie gain some weight back. That's a neat story on how he got his name. It sounds like he was meant to be with you.
