A nice blue surf last night, he came down fairly fast but not AS fast as his normal spectacular show. Looks like.. maybe... his body didn't bounce (yet) too badly from it, gave me a surprising yellow this morning. I was expecting a pink. So. yay!
and.. he was very hungry, noisy, demanding, active this morning! started 'wurbling' at the foot of the bed at 5:45am to remind me it was time! Shot downstairs and straight onto the chair, didn't even have to 'treat' him to test him, he just wanted it done so he could have his breakfast! Fed a larger breakfast this morning (latest attempts to slow any potential dives) and he's had a +1 tbsp snack as well. Will see if THAT combo works. sigh! Happy with the numbers of course, delighted that he is looking so happy lately.
amazed I'm not too stiff today. Harvey gave mea heck of a jolt yesterday and I could hear my neck and upper back just whiplashing! it was very sore last night but copious 'medications' (!) seemed to have helped. Probably will get a bit sore today from sitting still at work. Silly horse. he is so frustrating, so talented. Hoping that the vet check we are doing on the 'new' horse goes well (today or tomorrow). This one isn't a replacement for hubby... (I was hoping, sigh).. he's adamant that it's for me and that he really doesn't want another of his own - says he's still far too sad about the loss of Small Gee and that he never wants that pain again. Feel so bad for him. However, this new horse is a total sweetheart, not a giant talented serious dressage horse like Harvey (i.e. no brain, takes a ton of effort to ride and isn't really that personable!) but more of a solid all around 'jack of all trades' super sweet personality, and I asked Stu if he would 'help' me with him since I can't work two horses by myself and he said sure (!!..) so, hopefully he'll show him in a few western classes and at least still be more involved in the showing which is the part I miss. He still comes to the shows , helps me hugely, but I'd love to see him ride again (as would many of his friends). New horse (not sure what we'll call him, currently known as Rojo) is also for me to have some fun on, easier on my back, and just generally make me smile again! hope things work out...there is way more to the story (small world, karma, and strange coincidences) that make this horse seem like he was sent for us but will tell that IF things work out.
hope everyone has a fantabulous day in LL. Weather here 'dismal seepage' as per the norm for the PNW in spring! sigh. Birds all kicking up a ruckus this morning so I think they are going ahead with Spring even though it doesn't seem to have arrived!
