yesterdays numbers:

AMPS 462.6
+2 471.6
+6 430.2
PMPS 381.6
+! 352.8
+3.5 174.6
+4.5 153
+5.5 127.8
+6 127.8

A nice blue surf last night, he came down fairly fast but not AS fast as his normal spectacular show. Looks like.. maybe... his body didn't bounce (yet) too badly from it, gave me a surprising yellow this morning. I was expecting a pink. So. yay!

and.. he was very hungry, noisy, demanding, active this morning! started 'wurbling' at the foot of the bed at 5:45am to remind me it was time! Shot downstairs and straight onto the chair, didn't even have to 'treat' him to test him, he just wanted it done so he could have his breakfast! Fed a larger breakfast this morning (latest attempts to slow any potential dives) and he's had a +1 tbsp snack as well. Will see if THAT combo works. sigh! Happy with the numbers of course, delighted that he is looking so happy lately.

amazed I'm not too stiff today. Harvey gave mea heck of a jolt yesterday and I could hear my neck and upper back just whiplashing! it was very sore last night but copious 'medications' (!) seemed to have helped. Probably will get a bit sore today from sitting still at work. Silly horse. he is so frustrating, so talented. Hoping that the vet check we are doing on the 'new' horse goes well (today or tomorrow). This one isn't a replacement for hubby... (I was hoping, sigh).. he's adamant that it's for me and that he really doesn't want another of his own - says he's still far too sad about the loss of Small Gee and that he never wants that pain again. Feel so bad for him. However, this new horse is a total sweetheart, not a giant talented serious dressage horse like Harvey (i.e. no brain, takes a ton of effort to ride and isn't really that personable!) but more of a solid all around 'jack of all trades' super sweet personality, and I asked Stu if he would 'help' me with him since I can't work two horses by myself and he said sure (!!..) so, hopefully he'll show him in a few western classes and at least still be more involved in the showing which is the part I miss. He still comes to the shows , helps me hugely, but I'd love to see him ride again (as would many of his friends). New horse (not sure what we'll call him, currently known as Rojo) is also for me to have some fun on, easier on my back, and just generally make me smile again! hope things work out...there is way more to the story (small world, karma, and strange coincidences) that make this horse seem like he was sent for us but will tell that IF things work out.

hope everyone has a fantabulous day in LL. Weather here 'dismal seepage' as per the norm for the PNW in spring! sigh. Birds all kicking up a ruckus this morning so I think they are going ahead with Spring even though it doesn't seem to have arrived!

well, that was short lived! up to 342 for his +2.

interesting though. possibly the first time he's really gone UP for +2, as in a 'normal' food spike? as I said, gave him fairly decent sized breakfast in anticpation of dive. Will be interesting to see what his lunchtime test shows. Off to the barn to feed horsies now, and then off to work! have a good day everyone!

Hi guys .. ouch on the whiplash yesterday! Rupert, what's up with this +2? Always trying to keep your momma on her toes aren't you? So sorry to hear your DH is still grieving over his loss .. Perhaps it has just not been long enough :YMHUG:

Re: 4/30 Rupert AMPS 288,+2 342,+ 6 455

well damn. bounce in progress. yet again. So much for THAT plan. so he's big fat red at +6, presume will be red again PMPS. sigh. this is getting pretty frustrating. A few moments of blue/green and then two days of red.

am wondering if I shouldn't just do something truly radical and cut the dose down to 1 unit.. wait a bit, and then slowly UP it till we reach a good point, versus the possibility that he has too much at the moment and his body is fighting? any thoughts?

or... again, not sure of the mechanics of this, but when he does drop.....does he use up *more* of the insulin from the shed.. does his body allow it to drain to get the lower numbers, and then of course rocket up the other side.. and then we spend two days refilling? sigh. really trying to make sense of the bouncies. I keep hoping someone will tell me a great success story of a bouncy cat that finally got regulated or OTJ. anyone? doh. Rupie of course looks just fine so I'm not stressing THAT much, just more frustrated and sorry that he has to go thru such violent swings. grrrr.

Did you let Rupert read his condo? Especially the part about expecting some pink. Ouch on the red! Definitely a bounce.

Re: 4/30 Rupert AMPS 288,+2 342,+ 6 455

I dont have a clue to all the questions Pip. I am asking the same. Yes, some blue & green , yet bouncing for 2 days in a row. That's Rosy too. Now she's enjoying her yummy HC with her mummy exclusive to her attendence. And in the morning ( yes, it's 4am at my time), she'll be the little devil giving me all those red, if not a nasty black! We've got some naughty ones here!
