today amps 107 7.0 u 5th dose start new insulin pen

i assume i'm doing the right thing - just keeping on same dosage . . . after a week of greens try dropping .25 if he doesn't get below 50 in the meantime?

i'm just a nervous nellie about this because i feel like we're about to go crashing over a waterfall (hahahaha, not That Waterfall) and i'm still paddling full speed ahead. the past 4 days have been almost solid greens.

he seems great this morning. lots of cheering us on while he food was being prepped, member of the clean plate club for himself and he made sure anya's plate got membership too! so he seems super. lots of purring, just came from his LB and the bath is beginning.

no cerenia since night before last, but no sign of nausea. continuing the fortiflora. beginning day 8 of clindamycin.

You're doing exactly the right thing. I suspect Punkin will be angling for a decrease soon. For now, stick with this dose.

Oh yeah, your doing just fine.. I think Sienne is very right, looks like punkin's almost ready for a decrease. I can't tell you how happy i am he's doing so well for you.. He must be feeling 1,000% better since his dental and subsequent healing of his infection..

time for the second breakfast - lots of cheering me on while i got it in a bowl and he's eating like it's the very most best thing he's ever had.

ok, thanks for the reassurance! i thought so, but wasn't positive. we'll keep on. while we're keeping on, he seems to be getting better and feeling overall pretty good. it's nice to see!

hmmm, you know i'm wondering if i shorted him a tiny bit of insulin this morning. i used up the end of the last pen, sucking in some air, expelled some air, but not all of it and no insulin came out, then i withdrew the rest of the dose from the new pen.

tapped it, ejected some insulin, but when i was done with that i was pondering if there was a tiny bit of air at the top. i had already put away the pen, so i thought "no worries" and shot him - but maybe there was a little less insulin.

just thought i'd write it down here for posterity's sake, in case it became important for some reason. :lol:

Julie...Punkin is doing GREAT.

Yeah, when I get a weird number I always wonder if a bubble was hiding somewhere or my bleery eyes just couldn't see it.

WOW! What a difference a week makes, huh? I'm thrilled for you and Punkin. He's a very lucky boy to have a bean like you. Keep up the great work, Julie, and you may be headed for the falls (the good ones). :-D

i'm surprised at his rise today, but maybe it was either my measurement, the new pen or the way the moon is setting! :lol: i won't try to figure it out. ok, well i already have been trying, but i'll stop (if i can)! no way to know.

whatever, he's acting like he feels good. happy boy and no tummy upset. i'm happy for him.
 
Yeah, he's a cat...no point in straining your brain. The good news is that he's feeling great and giving you fabulous numbers! So glad his tummy has finally settled.
 
Punkin is looking great... don't worry too much about a cycle or two of higher numbers... they happen. Willie's been pretty stable in the healing zone lately... but he threw me a 166 the other day, then headed back down.

Glad to hear the pukus is being kept at bay! Hope you guys have a good night!
