Just a quick note to all of you who know Suki and me. Mike, my sister, and I made it to France on Apr 21 and have been having a wonderful time. But the absolute BEST part of our trip has been the days (too few) we spent with Suki, John, Poppy, Chloe, Tiggy, and Bolly at beautiful Chez Russell.
Suki and John extended the most amazing hospitality with incredible meals cooked by the amazing Suki, trips to lovely places (Ile de Re and Saintes), an incredible party with some of their close friends and a Fleeteood Mac cover band as a surprise (they were phenomenal). We ate marvelous food, drank champagne, and danced the night away. I think we called it quits at 2 a.m. I can't even begin to express how incredibly wonderful their friends are.....they welcomed us with open arms.
But....the absolute most wonderful thing was that Suki and I got to meet and however kind and beautiful you might think she is from the board, she is one hundred times that in person. We have forged a close and enduring friendship. I love you, Suki!
We talked about how our girls, Crystal and Gracie, would have wanted this for us and how they were looking down upon us with smiles on their sweet faces.
And John! What a character and such a kind, kind and generous man. He kept us in stitches and he and Mike hit it off famously. I am also sure my sister would have been just fine with us leaving her with Suki and John.
Here are a few pictures (I wanted to post more but the internet is in really slow in our hotel). The first is near an old Roman arch in Saintes with Suki and my sister, Kaye. In the second, you will see I am wearing a gorgeous rose quartz necklace that Suki gave me.
.
If you are on FB, I've been posting a traveling diary of our trip.
Wish the internet was fast so I could post pictures of lovely Chloe, Poppy, Tiggy, and Bolly. It will have to suffice for me to say that Chloe is quite the show off and a darling character; Poppy is a gorgeous torti who loved Mike's lap and spent quite a bit of time there; Tiggy is beautiful and would always try and beat me to the chair by the fire....actually, she almost always won; and Bolly....what a ham! He is a wonderful dog even though he ate the paper that had the Fleetwood Mac's set written on it!!
Suki....thank you and John, our dear friends, for this incredible time with you and for opening your hearts and home to us. Much love! Miss you already!!!!
