We got back from our little trip yesterday. Orange did alright with the whole experience. On the car ride there, he started off shaking a little and hung out in his carrier for the first part of the trip. By the end of the ride he was out exploring the car and spent the rest of the time with his paws up on the door looking out the window.
At our friend's house he made himself at home and took over the fireplace mantle. He seemed relaxed after a few minutes at their house. His BG readings weren't that bad, but I do think they would have been a little better at home. He also wasn't eating that great there. He still ate enough for me not to be worried, just less than usual and more slowly.
Overall, I'm calling the travel experiment a success! And, not that I want to do this too too often, I'm sure he'll get more comfortable as time goes on.
