Are Omega 3 supplements good for cats with acromegaly? Max has mild L ventricular hypertrophy, mild atrial enlargement, chronic pancreatitis, IBD and most recently possible early CKD. If this would benefit Max, what is a good brand to get? @Wendy&Neko, @Suzanne & Darcy or anyone else with input. Thanks
 
The vet didn’t call back to the lab to see if they still had blood to get the UPC (regarding his proteinuria) so I will see if NC State can do that when we go there. Also are there any questions I might need to ask when Max sees NCSU cardiology in a couple of weeks? @Wendy&Neko
 
I gave Neko omega 3. Nordic Naturals has one specifically for cats, though I'm not sure whether you need a cat specific one. Omega-3 is an anti-inflammatory and can help if arthritis, which is the original reason I gave it. It's also good for CKD.

Can you remind me if Max has had an echocardiogram before? Just wondering if this is a first or a follow on.

Max had an echocardiogram back in September of last year when he had his first consultation with internal medicine at NCSU. This one is a follow up due to the findings on his first echo, and because of his acromegaly of course. Thanks for that info on the Omega 3.
 
I guess the only question is whether they see changes from last time. Did they ever give you suggestions or limitations on anaesthesia?

Nothing other than at that time, they said he was okay to get anesthesia for the CT, MRI and then again for the SRT. I hope they don’t have to anesthetize him for the echo itself. They didn’t last time so I’m thinking that’s going to be the same.
