Mornings seem to stay close. He ate (finally) yesterday, so I kept at .75, despite doctor's suggestion of .5 in case I needed to see his reaction to Viyo. Viyo says it's fine on glucose.

This seems to be the slowest he's gone into the blue since I started a few days ago. I wonder if I missed? Although, I can't imagine it'd have gone down at all had I missed, 'cause he did eat...

He is coming down, so it looks like he got insulin in. Not all cycles will look like the standard curve shape either. Due to the way the depot works with Lantus, it can take 4-6 cycles for a larger depot to deplete. It could be that you were seeing blue earlier yesterday because of the 1.0 depot. Unfortunately, you have to learn patience with Lantus - not my strong suit.

Thanks, Wendy. I'm not what you'd call a patient person, either - especially when it comes to these treatments! I want my baby well, fast! I can't imagine he has much of a depot yet - I've had to alter his dosages these first several days - which I didn't want to do - but the numbers went down so fast... and I couldn't monitor overnight. I'm going to just barrel though it, I think... working hard to stick to this .75 for several days - no changes... but I'm not going to be patient about it! ;) Not in my nature, I guess.
Thanks for confirming that the going down means I didn't miss! That tiny dosage, I wouldn't even feel moisture at the shot site had I done so! Oy!

I get so I sniff at Neko's fur after each shot site. It's a pretty distinctive smell. Sometimes there's a drop that sticks to the needle and you smell that, so don't worry if you get a faint whiff.

DANG! I never knew that! I've got a good nose, too (which is NOT a blessing with a cat with IBD and urinary issues, I gotta tell you)! I'll sniff the needle next time and then go sniff my cat!

BTW - he smells sweet lately - with all his issues and the new illness, he's had 2 baths in 2 weeks - first baths in his life! He'd always been fastidious before all this...

Lantus definitely has a distinctive smell....It smells like band-aids.....lots of them...LOL

Some people say it smells like Scotch, but since I don't drink, I wouldn't know...but once you've smelled it, you'll never forget it!

You can put a drop on your finger...then you'll know what you're sniffing for
