4/30 Bear Man family update

[Linda and Bear Man]

Miss Emily is not doing well. She is refusing food. I started Mirtazipine today. It isn't working. I am so beyond stressed out. I serve every kind of food there is, and she turns in revulsion, or tries to run away from the dish or takes a couple of licks and gags it out. If nothing changes soon, she will die from this.

Teddy Man is also sick. It looks like a CP flare-up. He won't eat either.

I'm sick, too.

Sorry to be a downer. This is Bear Man's ending, all over again.

Thank you everyone. I am sorry I vented like that. Now I am worried about something else. She has gained almost 1/2 kg in two days. I am concerned she may have some excess fluid inside somewhere. Her respiration is a bit rapid. I don't know what is going on.

Look up side effects for the mirtz. I would not use this if there is no appetite. Its good for cats not eating "enough" but can really backfire on cats not eating and keep them off food longer. ((((hugs)))

Is she breathing with her mouth open? Was her breathing okay before the mirtz? If not I'd be concerned about the weight gain also/along with rapid breathing.

(((Linda))) I am so sorry that Miss Emily is not eating....my two were given famotodine shots and Shadow had cerenia....plus, my new vet gave them both a dose of Bupe for two days. They both got their appetite back....not sure if those would work for Emily too.... I am so so sorry Linda......it's awful when they refuse food....I used some boiled chicken and they took some of that. But it wasn't really "enough" to keep them going, ya know? they both improved so much from all of the above...

How depressing for you to be going through all this today. I sure hope that Miss Emily will rally and that Teddy will begin to feel better, too. Sending a beautiful bouquet of let's-eat-and-feel-better vines for Miss Emily and some feel-better-and-better vines for Ted. Do you think they would eat some chicken soup? Rusty will cook up a pot and have it there in no time.

J.D. started acting hyper like when I gave him mirtz once. I was in California on vacation, and I had just given him some Mirtz and he was kind of trembling. I was very afraid, and when I looked up the side effects of mirtz I was glad I had the antidote for serotonin syndrome (cypro) with me. Luckily he came out of it after about 15 minutes.

I hope Miss Emily and Teddy are feeling better. (((more hugs to you, Linda))) I hope you are feeling better, too.

Oh my poor friend, I know how you feel--Have you tried syringing baby food? Copper seems to like it and the consistancy--Praying for your babies to turn around & feel better. mirtz didn't work well with alex either. we switched to cypro and she ate right away.
it's been over 3 hours since you posted. is she still breathing rapidly?
