I kind of knew that he would be high this morning because I don't think he got much insulin last night. I noticed the Lantus was leaving the syringe before I got the needle under the skin so essentially it was a fur shot. Oh well... it happens.

Yep... it happens to all of us. I've gotten so much better, but, every once and while, Max will move or I'll not get the syringe in right.

Luckily with Turumo's long needles, I still get the needle in him through the fur which is great. However, I think that I tend to wind the plunger too tight while getting it up to the right dosage which causes it to become very sensitive to movement. Then when I pick the syringe up - the pressure pushes the insulin out before my finger hits the plunger. I am going to have to watch that.

Now I know what it means to be "wound so tight."
