ambg is 187 but she's thrown up.... and there are little spots of poo and blood all over the bathroom rugs....
Thank you Shadow for using those nice washable rugs....


she threw up the freeze dried turkey mixed with a little kangaroo....
I think everything is irritating her now. I just noticed that the tin of kangaroo is only 100 calories.


have to run out to vet to pick up prednisolone..

last phone call yesterday she decided we should wait on the pred and just start the cyclosporin.
the pharmacy with the cyclosporin won't have it until tomorrow.
They close early today for Good Friday.

She's being lovey and of course wanting food.
She's trying to work me for some shrimp but I'm not giving her any until we figure out what's
irritating her system so very very much.

I may go get her some rabbit today to give her something else to eat. She hasn't had any in a week
so it's not likely to be part of the liquipoo.

I'm happy to read that she's eating the kangaroo, even if she is trying to play you for more shrimp. :rolleyes:

How is her rear end rash today? When I worked at the local shelter we had a kitty with a chronic problem there (found with tail crushed and injured back end). He used to get manuka honey on his anus to help seal and heal. At one point I think they were trying diaper creme too. But I'd discuss the latter with the vet first.

I have a kitty Tater Tot who is my most recent rescue. He was going to be shot by his former owner because of his poop everywhere. He is a manx Bengal mix gone wrong as he is missing a tail and tail bone. After much testing and many vet visits to my vet and U of M along with med changes what has helped him is prednisolone combined with a b12 shot in his thigh. For me it has been a life saver as I would find poop everywhere and for over 3 weeks there has been none. Also I clean him up with just baby wipes and a hot cloth which he seems to like.

I hope the meds get to you quickly.
 
Is there any correlation in eating new foods to her vomiting? Is it scarf and barf (regurgitation) or actual vomiting(she is very sick, hunched over, heaving while vomiting) ? I'm wondering if the new introduction of kangaroo might be causing the gi upset- is she getting a probiotic? But on the plus side, she seems to want to eat and that's good. Healing vines being sent. :bighug:
 
I didn't catch her vomiting. It was just food mixed with freeze dried turkey. She ate the freeze dried turkey at 9 pm last night.
There may have been a mix of hair in it.... not a true hair ball .

just posted this in yesterday's condo too.... in answer to a question....

new medication list.... ( and old) to treat ibd
prednisolone 1 x a day
Cerenia 5mg every other day ( pills, not shots) waiting for delivery
Clay 1/8 tsp 2x a day
ondansetron up to 2x a day
cyproheptadine up to 2x a day but vet prefers mirazapine - she's going to give me the ear cream since it's not as harsh
metronidazole 75 mg 2x a day
Gabapentin 1 ml/day - not here yet so still giving Bupenorphine
and still the adequan shot every 3 weeks3

and added today....
Proviable which I was scared of.... but decided to give it a try anyway since it's supposed to stop the diarrhea immediately. It just that it has
soybean oil, kaolin, fructooligosaccharide, gum arabic, pectin, dextrose , sucrose, silicon diozide, maltodextrin and then seven bacteriums....
it only gets used for 3 days at most.... scary ingredients.... all the sugars and soy....
it may be working because since I gave her that and a prednisolone pill.... she hasn't squirted thus far....
paws crossed.

I'm going to go test her....
I'm expecting numbers to start going up ...

what dose does everyone think I should start with?
 
That is an odd dose of cerenia. The pill is usually 16 mg and so 1/4 of that would be 4 mg. That's hard enough to cut as it is. It also comes in a 24mg pill but 5 mg would be tough to dose in that as well.

What about a probiotic like Renew Ultimate flora instead of the Proviable which does have a lot of ick in it. Also...you've tried slippery elm bark powder syrup?

On the dose of insulin....her SS isn't up to date :eek::eek: How much does she weigh now and is she underweight?
 
she has lost just short of 1/2 of a lb. She's 11.98 currently. She was a little shubby.... but not by much.... she's probably more ideal now for her size.

I will go update her ss....
she's been green for years until this last week....
 
just tested her....

267 ..... what would be her +5 in a pm cycle....

i think that's not so terrible given she had a prednisolone pill a few hours ago.....


I sure could use a crystal ball.... what is the culprit?
