I'd be happy to, Melissa.Christie can you stay with her awhile?
I haven't fed a curve this low and it's coming up on kid's bedtime, I just didn't want to leave her stranded

Cherryl, you need to keep up testing every 15-20 minutes and administer syrup on gums each time until he is stable, and above 50. Has he shown any symptoms? If you have HC food, open the can, squeeze out the gravy and let him eat that as well.
I'd be happy to, Melissa.
You are doing great, I'm glad to see the +3.5, remember the syrup can wear off quickly. If he has only been getting syrup, let's get maybe 2 teaspoons of HC food if he will eat, I've found some kitties get an upset tummy with just syrup in their bellies.Thank You!!!!
He is up to +3.5 55
I will do the 15-20 mins!
He is acting ok so far. I just have not dealt with this low before.
Thank You!!!!

Hey Cherryl, did he have a chance to try the Dr. Tim's topper? In all the excitement - wow! When that boy decides to take a dive, he takes a DIVE!!! WOWSER!![]()
When he hit 35, I did 2tsp hc and put karo on his mouth...
because the honey did not seem to go over so well in previous test lolol
Sugar is sugar...
Luci prefers cakes, cookies and ice cream - but that's just her!![]()
Ok good to know, it is still fairly early in the cycle, so we don't want to fill him up either.
I know! I am not sure what to do because surely the 58 will drop ... to where I cannot know![]()
It may and it may not...there's a big ole bounce somewhere lying in wait for Mouzer...it's a natural response. And it's just a matter of time until his liver/pancreas dump their load of stored up glycogens and his BG's will soar. At that point you'll be able to get some rest and wait until he comes down from there. Let's hope it's not a really big bounce...but at any rate, this is the third time under 50, so he's earned a reducie, fair and square.
Hey Elise! Glad to see you've stopped by. I know Christie has offered to help with Cherryl and Mouzer this evening...in fact she was first to respond...
So I'm signing off...it's nearly bedtime for this old lady!
Have a good evening ladies!

So, +3.75 gives you some breathing room, I see you had MC at +3.5, so I'd feed some more MC then test in 30-40 minutes. Ideally we want him to stay up without syrup or HC for a couple of repeat tests over the next 2 hours. If he changes direction, switch back to HC.
I’d give a teaspoon of each.
That’s fine.Ok It is 15 minutes til the half hour, should I just wait til then and see what we have?
Cherryl, you are HILARIOUS.![]()

I’d try a little lc and test in 30.
I would not reduce by .50. If he’s low in the morning I would skip. You are getting depot action from the higher doses.
@Christie & Maverick What do you think?
Just 5 days ago he was getting 1.75. He might be starting a bounce.
I agree with Elise, I see still some depot, and Mouzer has earned a couple of quick reductions now, within a short period of time, so I'd go with 0.25u reduction.I would not reduce by .50. If he’s low in the morning I would skip. You are getting depot action from the higher doses.

It’s possible but dropping to 35 almost always leads to a bounce. Let’s see if it does now.Dang! My head is in circles trying to learn this
Thank You for responding!
I was wondering if I went too heavy on the honey and karo with the HC![]()

No, you needed to intervene as you did. I'd say because the simple sugars exit the system very quickly, as does the HC wet, that is not the reason. Had you used HC dry food, perhaps, since HC dry stays in the system longer. He's also coming to the time where the insulin typically peaks, which would mean numbers should be on the rise. Whenever I had low numbers early in the cycle, the nadirs always came early as well, but ECID.I was wondering if I went too heavy on the honey and karo with the HC![]()

It looks like the last of the HC and syrup wore off shortly after +5. Little stinker. I agree, you'll need to just follow him along.
He sometimes has a +7 nadir too.
