Cherryl, you need to keep up testing every 15-20 minutes and administer syrup on gums each time until he is stable, and above 50. Has he shown any symptoms? If you have HC food, open the can, squeeze out the gravy and let him eat that as well.

Thank You!!!!
He is up to +3.5 55
I will do the 15-20 mins!
He is acting ok so far. I just have not dealt with this low before.

You are doing great, I'm glad to see the +3.5, remember the syrup can wear off quickly. If he has only been getting syrup, let's get maybe 2 teaspoons of HC food if he will eat, I've found some kitties get an upset tummy with just syrup in their bellies.

Hey Cherryl, did he have a chance to try the Dr. Tim's topper? In all the excitement - wow! When that boy decides to take a dive, he takes a DIVE!!! WOWSER!:eek:

When he hit 35, I did 2tsp hc and put karo in his mouth...
because the honey did not seem to go over so well in previous test lolol

LOLOL I got the big rush when shooting in the 100's I was not accustomed to shooting at, which now I see is kind of funny that I was so scared :D
But now, I have this big rush goin on because I did get the nerve and now look at us ahahahaahahaaha MOUZER!!!!!
I think I want off of this ride!!

I know! I am not sure what to do because surely the 58 will drop ... to where I cannot know

It may and it may not...there's a big ole bounce somewhere lying in wait for Mouzer...it's a natural response. And it's just a matter of time until his liver/pancreas dump their load of stored up glycogens and his BG's will soar. At that point you'll be able to get some rest and wait until he comes down from there. Let's hope it's not a really big bounce...but at any rate, this is the third time under 50, so he's earned a reducie, fair and square.

LOL He even went into the 30's ... He was making sure he got a reduction lol
And now I am scared to only go from 1.25 to 1 hahaha That aint a big enough reduction for my nerves at this time ahahahaaha
I even got the emergency phone number and directions ready ahahahaa

Hey Elise! Glad to see you've stopped by. I know Christie has offered to help with Cherryl and Mouzer this evening...in fact she was first to respond ❤️...

So I'm signing off...it's nearly bedtime for this old lady!

Have a good evening ladies!

It is nearly bedtime for this old lady too LOL
Darn Mouzer :D
Sleep Well!!

So, +3.75 gives you some breathing room, I see you had MC at +3.5, so I'd feed some more MC then test in 30-40 minutes. Ideally we want him to stay up without syrup or HC for a couple of repeat tests over the next 2 hours. If he changes direction, switch back to HC.

Should I still give MC?

So, what is Mouzer going to do now? Bounce in the middle of this?
Should I test again in 30 minutes still and for how long the 30 minutes testing?
PMPS +4 69/+4.5 75

@tiffmaxee

I’d try a little lc and test in 30.

And I know I am being the pain to you but...
Dose reduction would normally be from 1.25 to 1.0
Do we have to stick to the .25 reduction or could we try .75 yet?
Mouzer is moving down so fast, I dont know when he will decide on a proper dose :D

I was wondering if I went too heavy on the honey and karo with the HC :D
No, you needed to intervene as you did. I'd say because the simple sugars exit the system very quickly, as does the HC wet, that is not the reason. Had you used HC dry food, perhaps, since HC dry stays in the system longer. He's also coming to the time where the insulin typically peaks, which would mean numbers should be on the rise. Whenever I had low numbers early in the cycle, the nadirs always came early as well, but ECID.

ECII = Every Cat Is Insane :D
He did go back down now though ... Only to +6 62 but I feel I need to continue watching for a time to make sure he stays up.
But now I dont know if I should go back to every 30 minutes or if I can wait an hour again.
Thank You for responding :)

I need a young, vibrant, energetic 25 to 30 year old volunteer lol
But I only trust me to do this - I dont know what I would do if I really would accept a volunteer for the diabetic kitty.
I would not even trust leaving the diabetic kitty at the veterinarian's office.
They will do what they think they are so smart to do and what they do most likely would not be the smart thing to do for the diabetic kitty :(

It looks like the last of the HC and syrup wore off shortly after +5. Little stinker. I agree, you'll need to just follow him along. Since it looks like you fed MC, I think next test in 1 hour is okay, but you know him best.

Mouzer must be so sick of all of this he is running down as fast as he can go, in hopes I stop messing with his ear and shoving food in his face :D
He loves the attention but when we go through this, he gets miserable..
Go just a little slower, Mouzer lol Mom cannot keep up :D
