Trix is still not 100%, but she is continuing to improve! When I got up in the middle of the night with Frankie (yep, that's still happening, although not as badly lately), Trix was downstairs snoozing on the ottoman snuggled next to Petey...another first! When I got up "for real" (fuds & meds time) this morning, she followed many of her usual rituals, like trotting in and out of the laundry room with me and snuggles on the computer chair while I checked e-mail.
She was feeling REALLY feisty when it came to the liquid famotadine. Since she is back to taking pill pockets (although I'm still cautious about it), I think I will try switching her over to the pill form tonight. We did give her 1ml/2mg ondansetron this morning, she took her BP meds, but we did skip the bupe. She seems to be OK, but I am watching her closely (while trying not to hover!) to see if she is uncomfortable at all. I think I want to do the odansetron for at least one more day. When I talked to the vetty the other day, she said we need to make sure Trix STAYS feeling good now, so we don't backslide. So, I admit, I'm a bit scared to stop the meds. Yikes.
She is still a bit nervous about eating downstairs with everyone else, but is eating pretty well (better than even yesterday) upstairs, near her safety zone rocking chair...or, even better, when MamaBean or DaddyBean holds the plate for her and she can eat will still curled up in the rocking chair! Oh, what a cat!
It has been a week now without insulin  . I'm thankful for the normal numbers because shooting insulin right now does scare me...I'm afraid of her dropping and needing HC and having that rich food upset her tummy.
MamaBean is still a nervous wreck over all this. A minute or two after I got up, I heard someone barfing. I rush out to see if it was Trix. It wasn't; it was Zen hacking up a hairball. I'm still shaking....my nerves are just shot.
I'm off today, so it's chores and hanging with kitties!
Have a great day, LL!
