A year ago today Autumn woke up in her furever home, the day before she had been taken from her previous home, placed in a carrier and began her cross-country journey from Minnesota to Nebraska. Back then she was a very sick little girl, her BGs were in the 500s, she had moderate ketones, and so dehyrated that she didn't have skin anymore but leather and her coat was so matted that she was in a living straight jacket and those mats were wearing sores into her body. No one was treating her for her diabetes and were still feeding her Alley Cat cheap dry food.

A year later her morning BG is 102, she is ketone free, well hydrated, and covered in a plush silky coat, receiving insulin on a regular basis and just finished a yummy breakfast of Fancy Feast Chicken Feast.

Sigh... what a lovely stopping place in Autumns life story. I know her future is bright and sparkly from here on out.

Awww I want to snuggle her face! But, being a tortie......... :lol: If she's anything like Patches, you can only snuggle on her terms, when SHE wants it. :lol:

Nice to see she came off those higher numbers from yesterday. That 102 sure is purty! :thumbup

What's that I see? Heading for the grass to play? ;-)

Mel, you know I really don't care for torties, but she's gorgeous.......you've done an amazing job with her. Now Autumn, hurry up and get diet-controlled so Mom's job is complete and she can get herself another sugar-kitty to work on.

I mean whats one more in the herd :)

Totally awesome story and she is so darn beautiful! Wow, what a catch on that 45!! You rock!
