Re: 4/28 Trixie + 18 331 +20.75 247 +23.5 120 +24 101DOSE?

Most likely the number is dropping from lack of food. How long do you have to stall.....or if you stall tonight will that keep you on scedule for tomorrow?

Re: 4/28 Trixie + 18 331 +20.75 247 +23.5 120 +24 101DOSE?

we could stall for about an hour.

We're concerned about the possibility that she could barf up HC, if we needed to try and bring her numbers up. We both feel better about not shooting again tonight, just for that barfing/dropping low number combo.

He'll test again at 6:15....

Re: 4/28 Trixie + 18 331 +20.75 247 +23.5 120 +24 101DOSE?

I probably would advise not shooting tonight.
See if you can get her to eat a little and keep it down so that you will be able to shoot in the morning.

Did she have the pepcid twice today?

Re: 4/28 Trixie + 18 331 +20.75 247 +23.5 120 +24 101DOSE?

We agree about not shooting.

She's had the pepcid once so far - at 9:30 this morning. I was thinking we'd give her another round of Pepcid around 8:00...or do you think we should do it sooner?

So far, she's held the 2tsps of BG 96% chicken down - she ate about 45 minutes ago.

Re: 4/28 Trixie PMBG 101 +.5 96 +2.25 68 - THOUGHTS?

She's down to 68 with no insulin today...now I'm getting a little nervous.

She has eaten a little bit...a few "installments" of BG 96% chicken, maybe a total of 3-4 tsps. Everything is stayind down so far. We also gave her another pepcid about 45 minutes ago...could that be affecting her BG?

Is there something else we should be doing?

No one else has barfed, but now 2 of my other civvies really aren't interested in eating. I don't know if that's coincidence, their mood, or what. Sometimes one of them really drags his heels at mealtime, but the other - while not a hoover - is normally VERY social. He is trottring around and such, but The one who is really social wouldn't touch Wellness with a 10 foot pole; the other occasionally licks just a little bit. So now...who knows what's going on, but I'm not liking it one bit. And I have to work tomorrow...I'm teaching a class.

Re: 4/28 Trixie PMBG 101 +.5 96 +2.25 68

No worries since she has not had insulin in 24 hours but she must have one big shed.

I would feed very small amounts to see if she keeps the food down.

Re: 4/28 Trixie PMBG 101 +.5 96 +2.25 68

Thanks Miriam...I know it's weird to worry about "normal" numbers with no insulin on board...but seeing a 68 in her just instinctively makes me nervous! Just a day or two ago, I was feeding HC with these numbers!

So far, so good with the small amounts staying down. That's all she and Frankie want...I'm "happy" that they're at least interested in eating a bit.

Now...the other guys....

Re: 4/28 Trixie PMBG 101 +.5 96 +2.25 68

I think you are wise not to shoot tonight. Give her body a chance to recuperate. Cats are a lot like people. When you have stomach things, you sure don't feel like eating!
But perhaps a little KTSS chicken soup might help? Rusty is fixing up a pot now, and the KTSS will be along later. Feel better Trixie!

It's good to hear Trixie and Frankie are eating small amounts and keeping it down. I hope tomorrow will be better for them. Have a good night.

No more barfs from Franks or Trix. They both ate small quantities a few times throughout the evening. Petey finally showed his face and at some dinner at 10:30. Noah is still a no-show (well, I have seen him, but he hasn't eaten, nor has he been all over me like he uusally is). Zen is seeming a bit out of it now, too.

When I took in 6 cats, I never thought about the possibility of having 6 sick cats at once. This is the third time over the course of 8 years...granted, I'm seeing varying levels of whatever stuff is going on here, but man-o-man, do I need a break...

I'm trying not to be nervous about what tomorrow is going to bring for Trix & Co....

Have a great night, all. Thanks for your help today!

ohmygosh amy! what a day you've had. long and full of sick kitters. sympathy from me!

fwiw, someone suggested to me to try to entice punkin to eat with a different flavor that what he had puked up. you can imagine that no one wants to eat the same flavor that just came up.

remember she can't go hypo without a shot, so relax on that part.

hoping that you have a miraculous healthy kitter(s) in the morning!
