Yesterday Neko got rid of the last of a bounce from a low two night before, by going flat pink during the day. ohmygod_smile She made up for it by surfing green all night long. :mrgreen:

After going to sleep at a 90's surf, this mornings number was quite the surprise. I decided to shave Neko's dose, not because of this AMPS, but because civie Theo has been going in and out of the LB straining and making small pee clumps. I'm going to see if I can get him into the vet today and don't want to worry about a drama queen at home. Theo has had crystals before but since going on the raw diet over a year ago, has been fine. His vet is not working today, but Neko's vet is. Since she is one of only two vets open today in our community, it might be hard to get in last minute. Of course DH has gone off sailing early today. I really want to get into Neko's vet, because they are close by. The emergency vet is over 30 minutes away. Our sugar cats have the greatest timing. :roll:

I hope Neko will be a good girl this morning, surf well so that you can take care of Theo. How great that your vet(s) work on a Sunday! Not here, and I always dread having a potentially sick kitty on the weekend, as that is a ER visit for sure. and oh yes on that timing...

I missed you last night! I know the pj party was in full swing but I was helping out Jamie and Dane with Jupiter and, of course, my own little party girl. Who left the prom early :smile:

I hope Theo is ok. I know crystals can be painful. Good luck at the vet. I hope that it is perhaps just idiopathic and there are no crystals. Has he had any stress lately?

Oh the sailing sounds wonderful and I can picture beautiful Vancouver bathed in Mannies sunbeams.

Please let us know how Theo is.

A little bit more than she normally gets from breakfast, but still hard to tell where she's going today.

@Michelle - Paws crossed here Neko will decide a blue surf is the order of the day. Of course, what I want and what she wants to do are two different things. :lol: Just found a third vet office open today, and one of their vets is someone I row with. Not sure if she is working today. But none of the vets are open yet, short days today. We are supposed to get drizzle again end of day - hope they are wrong.

@Marje - Neko was a late arrival to the PJ party so I guess she was arriving as Gracie was leaving. I don't think Theo has been under any stress - not much different around here. When he first got crystals our main water line had just broken and DH was jackhammering the floor downstairs. Nothing like that going on now. DH is helping a friend reposition a sailboat from Vancouver to Victoria. Should be beautiful, but not much wind now.

Hi Wendy, sending tons of good vetty vines and be well vines for Theo. Neko is looking fabulous today :) I think the shave you shot is what they call a BCS dose (being chicken sh%* :lol: ) I hope she stays drama free for you and has a lovely blue surf.

So Neko gave me a nice go-to-vet number. My vet was not working today, office is closed for a conference. I found one appointment open at a vet we hadn't been to before, but I knew of them from days working at the shelter. I got a locum vet, must be all vets at conference today. But it was a lady which is good because Theo is nervous around most men. Theo was not blocked. Yeah! Vetty managed to massage his bladder and we got a good bit out. It's going for testing. Unfortunately it's free catch and she didn't have time to do testing using their equipment, so according to Dr. Lisa's website the results won't be as accurate. I hate knowing stuff like that. Theo got fluids and prazosin capsules to relax his urethra. I also got vetty to do an anal sac expression because I've seen him scooting. Turned out to be a good thing it was harder than they like. Add that to the list of his "back end" issues. :roll: Vetty did want me to start feeding the 17% carb Urinary SO, I explained that was a no go. Low carb/low phosphorus with even more water is the way we will go.

When we got home Theo ran upstairs to the back bedroom (only bed he can get under), but it wasn't long before he joined Neko in the solarium.

@Liz - Not as bad as it could have been, I feel better having gotten to the vet today and very happy he could come home with me.

@Courtney - I would have shot the full dose if I knew I was going to be around. I've shot lower, a bit. +2 didn't look like a surf. :roll:

@Carla - Neko was safe and Theo is home, so I'm happy. :-D

Wendy, I'm so glad the vet visit went well for Theo. I was holding my breath, reading that. These kitties do have good timing , don't they? :roll: I was afraid I'd have to take Checks to emerg, when he fell last night.

What a good girl Neko is, to give you good " go out, Mommy", numbers :-D

Classic Neko inverted curve - I can guess what colour she'll be at PMPS. :lol: Theo went 6 hours without visiting the LB but still smaller clumps than I'd like to see. He just got his prazosin as it is supposed to be given with food. Paws crossed it'll help.

@Barb - I get so nervous about crystals. If can go bad quickly if they are blocked. Diet is supposed to be the solution and his vet suggested raw food as the answer. I prefer that solution to a lifetime on the HC junk the vet sells. I'll touch base with his vet tomorrow. Why is it always Sunday when things happen? I fell asleep in the solarium with the kitties for an hour. 3.5 hours last night just wasn't enough sleep.

Glad Theo is not blocked and rejoined everyone when he got home. Hope the meds start helping.

Hope Neko doesn't pick that color!
 
Hi Wendy,

Good new about Theo not being blocked. Sure hope the rest of the stuff at that end clears up for Theo!

Super nice of Neko to give you the green light for vet visit. But our fur children love to keep up us at night! They must get lonely!
