Well, he didn't eat at all last night but was CPC by +3 today. So I added more to his bowl. I think I really need to start tracking calories again. He lost another 200g in one month. 400g since January. I am scared the IBD has progressed to lymphoma now. His eating has been eratic and he is back to pudding poo this morning. The way he acts is like is uncomfortable all the time.

So maybe the vet visit next Saturday is not going to be about a dental but about how to move forward. I am sitting here crying today. I love this prick of a cat and we have gotten closer over the last year and half. I don't won't him to go but then how do you stop these things from happening. I was surprised he made it this far.

I have the AVJ and SEB on the way to make those pill balls, so hope that may help ease his discomfort along with Rain's (CKD) vomitting.

Going forward I think I will be giving a few more treats/carbs into the mix and just up his dose a bit. See if we can stall the weight loss a bit.

Not doing bad with all the additional treats. I think my plan is to add in more carb and up the dose to see if we can get some weight gain. Once I talk to our vet next Saturday she may have some additional ideas.

Upon reflection it is either his IBD has progressed or his kidney's are starting to falter with all the meds going through them.

The only other thing I will change is adding in the SEB/AVJ pills. I will give each of the sick children that before bed.

Oh hugs Tracey! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: It is so hard to manage multiple issues. So, how underweight is he right now? I like the idea of upping the calories and adjusting the insulin.

I hope the SEB/AVJ balls help him. Give 30 minutes before you want him to eat.

IBD is a moving target. I wouldn't assume it's necessarly a progression to SCL. Through another board and an IM vet that posts there, I found out about another probiotic called Visbiome. It's been proved to help IBD and they are doing tests with animals now. I got the unflavoured pouches and do 1/16 of a pouch in the AM and PM. Another possibility is that Jones was in higher (for him) numbers for a while, so he might not have been able to get all the calories in his food. His numbers are looking much better lately.

A vet visit is probably a good idea anyway. Been 6 months.

This is him today. He is so skinny at 5.1 he was looking good.

I weigh the last Saturdayin the month in the morning. All of the cats.

Your right Wendy. It has only been a couple of weeks of good numbers.

I will google that probiotic....

I have a concern. He is on metronidazole and gets it twice a day.

Currently I have put it in the capsules with his meds as he seems to know it is in the food. As everyone is working there is no way to give the probiotic on a different time table. I was going to do the SEB at night before bed. Is there a good way of incorporating this all together.

Ugh, I hated having a meds schedule. Neko had mini meals. The probiotic should probably be separated by the metro by a couple hours. Does Jones have a couple meals a couple hours apart in the cycle? The probiotic can just be mixed into food. Does anyone get home a couple hours before PMPS? SEB as a bed time snack sounds good.
