Good morning,

Yesterday's condo

Yesterday
AMPS=182 (0.75u); +2.5=202; +5=205; +8=227
PMPS=173 (0.75u); +1=175; +2=205; +2.5=203; +6.5=207

Today
AMPS=220 (0.75u); +2=137; +3=137; +6=140; +9.5=149
PMPS=166 (0.75u); +2=200

Lucy was doing better yesterday, but she's not feeling so good again this morning.
Her appetite has bee poor since yesterday evening's 2nd dinner even with the cypro on board.
I managed to get her to eat the regular breakfast portion in the end, but if I didn't insist, she wouldn't have eaten at all, which is worrying considering she had cypro.
So of course I'm worried about aspiration pneumonia Sienne mentioned, but she's breathing fine and she's not coughing, and I don't know what to look for.
The symptoms I'm seeing are low appetite and low energy, which can be anything.
She's not blowing her nose or shaking her head anymore.
But she had a pudding poo and she's not purring this morning.

Her numbers improved suddenly, but they are no good if she's not feeling good.
I think I'm going to call the vet and see what he/she thinks......

I hope everyone's having a nice day.

Re: 4/27 Lucy AMPS=220;+2=137;+3=137;+6=140 // not good agai

I just spoke with the vet.
I explained to him how she got better yesterday, and then worse today.
I explained to him that she's not shaking her head or blowing her nose anymore, but her energy and appetite are low.
He asked me if she's worse today than when he saw her the day before yesterday, and I said no, she's worse than yesterday but not worse than the day before yesterday.

I told him she's not breathing funny or coughing, and he said pneumonia in cats are a little different from that in dogs, and cats don't always have breathing problem or coughing.
But he said she'd have a fever, and asked me if I could take her temp (rectal!), and I said no I didn't think she'd let me do that.

He thought about it for a while, and decided he wanted to give her another day.
She might still be uncomfortable from the irritated tissue caused by the vomit.
Or she might have a mild pancreatitis flare from the stress.
He suggested I'd try a dose of bupe and if she feels better after that, then we'll know it's probably pancreatitis.
He also suggested that I give her cypro again today, and if her appetite/energy aren't better tomorrow, then bring her back.

So that's what I'm going to do.

Sending tons of feel better and appy vines over to Lucy. I hope the bupe/cypro combo works for her. It's so nice your vet has time for such a detailed discussion with you on a Sunday.

Sending more appy and general feel better vines for Lucy.

You really do have a wonderful vet, Mariko. I'm so glad for you - it must give you a lot of comfort having someone that listens to your concerns and considers things carefully and doesn't just dismiss you as a hysterical Cat Mom!

It's good that her numbers are so nice and safe and consistent, as that's one less thing for your to worry about. I'll be watching for your post tomorrow and hoping it's better news. :YMHUG:

I'm sending feel better and healing vines to Lucy. I hope the bupe and cypro help her.
Hugs to you, Mariko.

I'm sending vines for Lucy and a big hug to you. It does sound like a possible panc attack. Are you giving her any nausea medication like ondansetron or cerenia? When Max has an attack he needs ondansetron twiçe a day. He is always inappetent with pancreatitis and nauseous. He rarely vomits but the lack of appetite is a dead give away.

Thank you all for your vines and prayers.
Anti-nausea totally slipped off my mind.
I just gave her cerenia too. Thank you for reminding, Elise.

She ate the 1st dinner fine by finger-feeding after cypro.
She ate the 2nd dinner only so-so, and she got bupe.
She didn't want the 3rd dinner, and she got cerenia.
