Yesterday's Condo

Another (anti-jinx) beautiful (anti-jinx) green (anti-jinx) surf (anti-jinx)! :D:D:D Love, love, loving this! :woot: Cinco is just paddling along, hanging with his buddies and having a wonderful time. Mama is sooo happy (anti-jinx)! No bowling tonight, so he can give us a repeat performance if he'd like to (anti-jinx).

Meanwhile, back in the real world, it's crappy appy day for Minka again. :( I just gave her the second half of the Ondansetron tablet and will try again in a little while. I really don't want to assist feed for fear it will upset her tummy again, but she can't be going without food like this. Sometime last night she threw up in the guest bedroom. :( I'm so worried about her I can't see straight. I feel like she's wasting away. She doesn't have that "I don't feel well" look today, which is something, but she's not eating, either. I just don't know what to do. I've only opened two cans so far, so I guess I'll be opening a few more, and maybe break out the baby food next....

Sasha has eaten breakfast and lunch with a fair amount of enthusiasm. Harvey is protesting this morning's entree (Wellness Salmon & Trout), but perfectly willing to eat the other can of food I opened for Minka (Dave's Tuna & Shrimp). I didn't give Cinco the Wellness, as it is 8%. He's been surfing along on 1% FF Salmon Feast.

Our contractor is supposed to be here any minute to finish up the floor repairs. He's bringing one of his workers to do some yard stuff for me - I just can't pull weeds, etc. anymore with these hands and the guys that do our lawn are always in and out so fast on Fridays I never get the chance to ask them to do it.

The winter season of bowling ended with last Monday night. We go to Reno this coming weekend for sweepers, and then the summer league starts up. So a couple of weeks without garlic pretzel bites. The withdrawl should set in by morning...

My stomach is growling, and the brisket sandwich DH fixed himself a little while ago sure smells good, so I think it's time for lunch. Then another attempt to get Minka to eat. Wish me luck.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :bighug: Special prayers for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, DH and DGD, Marje's DM, Chris' DM and Elise's DM.

Beautiful surf for Cinco...and tons of appy vines for Minka.....

What do her docs say about assist-feeding? I know with Trix, sometimes I think it helps settle her stomach....I feel like she ends up in a vicious cycle of not feeling well from not eating enough, so then she doesn't want to eat because she doesn't feel well. If I get a syringe of food into her, it often kick starts her - like it reminds her how good it feels to have food in her tummy.....

Or...have you tried injectible version of onda and/or cerenia? Maybe those would be more effective in keeping her tummy settled. Something to ask the doctors about....

Thanks for stopping in with vines, Carla, Rhiannon and Amy. Minka finally ate some of the Dave's Tuna and Shrimp. I haven't asked about injectables, Amy. Maybe I will ask that Wednesday when we go for her acupuncture. We meet the acupuncture vet at our regular vet's office, since she doesn't have her own office.

I did find that the assist feeding seemed to jump start Minka before, but this last time she got so sick afterwards. Maybe it was the Max Cal - several people suggested it might be too high in fat for her. I may try it with the NF again. That seemed to go well. The Oncologist really wants me to try everything to get her to eat on her own before getting out the syringe, but there is only so much we can try. I'll see if she eats any more for me this afternoon and decide about supplementing tonight.

Meanwhile, Cinco seems to have found the trampoline. I dunno - maybe he encountered a shark in the lagoon and this is him trying to escape? That's far enough, Cinco!

Tricia. All I've got is kudzu-like appy vines for Minka. Such a good bean to be so darned determined. Now, Minka...do your part. Please.

Cinco....what's with that +9. Bouncing a bit, young man. Well, short and low. That's the mantra.

Marilyn and Polly

Turn around, Cinco! Back to the lagoon with you.

I hope Minka will start eating better soon.

Garlic bits withdrawal. Oh my! Maybe you can swing by there and pick up a bag!

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

I agree with Amy that Minka might need injectable nausea meds. Did you ever ask your vet or oncologist about that?

Max enjoyed swimming with Cinco. Repeat performance tonight?

What was that orange blur that just sped by?? Cinco? Was that you?? Come on back to the lagoon and swim with me..I'll watch for sharks~ China

Sure hope Cinco heads back down tonight....may need him to help watch for sharks for China! She's headed out into the deep water pretty fast

Sorry about Minka's appy being down again. Hope you find something she will eat willingly so you don't have to do the assist feeding again.

Harvey turned his nose up at food? That's new!! He's usually not picky at all!

As for the garlic pretzel bites....maybe you'll have to make some at home to get you through the tough times...You're a good baker...shouldn't be too hard!

(((((Tricia)))) ((((Minka))))) Tons and tons and tons of appy vines for Minka- I hope the accupuncture helps her. Have you ever tried it for your arthritis? My neurologist suggested it for my headaches but I was too afraid to try it, but all these years later, maybe she was on to something! Vines for continuing healing for Sasha, Harvey and well, Cinco, I just know he will find his way back to the lagoon- such a good boy!! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Argh, I was hoping for a good appy report again:(. Hopefully the assist feeding will go well with a different fud. Heaps and loads of appy and feel good vines for all your babies! And hugs for you:bighug:. Oh, and Cinco? Wrong way!! Come back down...

Thanks for stopping by, Marilyn, Elise, Ella, Chris, Ruth and Rachel.

It appears Cinco isn't interested in a swim tonight. Of course, the night isn't over... I'll tell him China is calling.

Minka ate about half of her dinner at the first attempt. She's still nibbling. I do think she's trying to kill me.

Ella, I would swing by and pick up some garlic pretzel bites, but the bowling alley is in Sacramento, 60 miles away. I won't be going into town until Wednesday.

Making them myself is an option, but the two times I've tried I've overcooked the darned things, and that ruins them.

Elise, I have never thought about asking for injectables until it was suggested earlier today. I will definitely try to talk my vet into them on Wednesday.

Harvey eventually ate the Wellness, but only after acting like it was poison. He's so melodramatic. He had no issue with dinner - Friskies Special Diet T&G.

No, Ruth, I've never tried acupuncture for myself. I hate needles. Since Minka doesn't seem to be getting a lot of benefit from it, I'm not sure I'd want to try it.

Cinco, listen to your aunties!!

I guess you missed my post the other day. I had brought up nausea injections. There are three that I know of: cerenia, ondansetron, and anzamet. They are better absorbed but the one drawback is that for some cats they sting. Tiffany was one that cerenia injections did sting. Many cats are fine with it though. I would definitely try it since Minka is one that doesn't like syringe feeding.

Thanks, Elise. Maybe that is where I remember seeing it. The past few days have been pretty crazy and I have trouble placing everything. I made a note to ask the vet on Wed.

I'm pretty sure Amy suggested it today as well. I hope it helps. It did get Tiffany eating. I can't imagine dealing with 4 kitties at the same time along with your arthritis. I've had enough difficulty dealing with one at a time. :bighug::bighug: I hope you are in your way to bed now.
