Good morning!

Gave Zoe a dose increase this morning; she's at 4.25 units now. I'll follow it today to see how it goes and keep you all posted. She has sneezed a few times last night and this morning so maybe her increased bg has to do with an infection of some sort. ??? Not going to analyze it to death until we see how the new dose works out. Find it odd though that after having such better numbers that she has leveled out back in the reds. I was at least expecting yellows and blues ....but I've learned I shouldn't expect, so....we shall see.

Appetite is good; energy level is still enough that she routinely patrols for kibble or dropped food in hopes of scoring to feed her food addiction -- I know she's sick, but her symptoms don't match anything to be able to pursue. It's frustrating to think that she's not getting the proper meds because we can't figure out the diagnosis. I feel like the only care we're giving her is palliative and we're missing something that's right in front of us. :/

Hope you all have a good Monday!

Yesterday

come on Zoey, take a cue from your pal Oren, work that dose and come back down. He spent all day in the red room yesterday too, and there's nothing interesting there, so he decided to go blue this a.m.
Maybe she's sneezing from pollen Rose? How bad is it in your area? The tree (pine mostly) pollen was cranking pretty good around here last few weeks. Oren even had drippy eyes for a day or so.
I too have given up 'expecting' things; this weekend came out of nowhere, though I'm beginning to suspect there was a partial fur shot that caused the red Sunday.

don't be too surprised if she stays high or even bumps a little w/ the new dose; Oren seems to definitely experience that NDW phenomena! Time for extra large patience pants..!

Anyway, you're such an attentive momma I'm sure she is good hands and you'll get it in hand.

Have a good rest of your Monday!

Oh, Megan (@Megan & Oren) ...Zoey has taken off to join Oren for a little swim this afternoon. I just do NOT know what to do with those two! I look at Oren's picture and he's such a gentleman, there's no way he's the instigator. You can look at Zoey's picture and tell she's the one running loose and causing trouble. She's like: I do what I want, when I want! (smh) I surely hope she doesn't get a bad rep around here so please, tell Oren thanks for being her friend and to stay strong ... maybe he can be a better influence on her than she is on him!

Pollen is bad around here and that could be it. Oak has come and gone but we're surrounded by some pines, too, so maybe that's it. Her numbers are definitely improving with the increase so maybe the enzymes are causing the higher numbers and now that we're dosing with her on those, we'll find a happy place for her to settle in for a bit. Positive thoughts and all that. :)

Nice little dive into blues today. Work that extra juice Zoey - no bouncing please!

Do you have a veterinary school anywhere near you? Just wondering if there's a place that might have some vets that can think out of the box. Maybe an internal medicine specialist? When did she last have blood work or urinalysis done? Our kitties are great at hiding when something is wrong with them.

@Wendy&Neko There's probably a few places nearby but at this point, we are losing our health insurance at the end of the month and we have to start asking ourselves at what point we prioritize our health over our critters' (there are many critters). We paid upwards of $6000 trying to treat our Rocky Boy two years back (not including the days off from work for the days spent at holistic vets and specialists) and after reading these boards, I do believe that the Metacam he was on probably was a factor in his death. Either way, if it was or it wasn't, it was money wasted on guesses and hunches that didn't pan out. It's really heart wrenching to make those hard decisions like that. As far as blood work, she had labs completed on 3.24.15 and they're posted on her ss. Lots of possibilities going on there, but she should be sick, throwing up and not eating, with the majority of the could-be issues that come to our vet's mind. He spoke to an internist and they think it might be her being overweight but he kind of blew that off but is still stumped.

Anyway... the whole thing brings me down because I can't fix the obvious things let alone the unknown. I hope someone might stumble upon us and say, hey! by golly, this sounds familiar and give us some new insight. never give up hope. :)

I went ahead and shot Zoey tonight. She was at 126 and I'm going to go ahead and still the voices in my head and not feed her right away when she continues to drop early on. I figure that's going to be her new norm and I'll just have to adjust.

I'll holler if we get into trouble.

ETA: She's not dropping so it probably means later in the wee hours of the morning I'll need to be up and on my toes. I will check her at +6 and go from there.

Sweet dreams everyone.
