Good day everyone..

Smokey seems to be staying pretty high overnight and so far today.. hoping for a slow drop over the next couple hours and tonight... Not sure if the feedings at +3 & 6 may be keeping him this high? He had some decent numbers during the day yesterday.. not sure..
 
I have a feeling those numbers today are off that free fall yesterday where he started in the black and then dropped very quickly down into the blues by +6.

Thanks Mel.. just for my own knowledge.. what are good rates for him to fall by? I don't think I've come across that..

If he starts AMPS in 500's, what would we be happy with for his +6 , for example?
 
Really depends on how high he starts out but on average I would think you only want him to drop at maybe 100pt per 3 hours so or about about 33pts per hour. Kind of a rainbow kitty...lol Black to red, to pink to maybe yellow at lowest if he isn't going to bounce. Now with that said, you don't want him staying in those numbers so getting to the blues by nadir is good, but just means he is going to bounce and you are going to have to ride those bounces out. Because even with that black to blue the dose isn't too high, it just is that he isn't use to those kind of drops, so his liver freaks out. Just got to wait for his liver to catch a clue that its okay to be down there again.

Some livers are faster learners than others...so when will he stop bouncing..well...when he does, there is no set time for that to happen, but eventually the bounces will get less high and he will clear them faster and faster. Pretty soon the bounces instead of being black will be red, then those reds will become pinks, and then those pinks, yellows etc.

I see... I was kind of excited yesterday when I saw those blues.. I thought well it's kind of a fast drop but, it wasn't as low as it had been. So, I was hopeful! I'll just have to remember to put my patience pants back on. But, with the weather getting warmer, I gotta ask.. Do they make these things in shorts?? lol :lol:
 
Just make sure you get your patience shorts in a color that will match your steel toed dancing shoes when Smokey decides he wants to stop bouncing and start diving lessons instead. :lol:

Ohh the things I have to look forward too!! LOL!!!

My favorite color.. we'll I like my blues and greens, I think I could pull off something in those! I better get some sun! :)
