[Roni and Moonie]

Morning LL! Moonie is doing well & is doing all P's--She is feeling real good.
She sort of seems to be steering clear of her brother, like she senses something--Not batting at him or anything. She is the perceptive one after all.

Copper eats little bits at a time, He actually ate baby food,got Gerber chicken & chicken gravy today & I was happy- I will cook him some steak & chicken in a while-he eats small amounts of that too. and a tiny bit of cat food maybe.-He was never a big eater, but he consumed his share--Now he is quite skinny, which tears me up.
We will see oncologist today at 4 pm-DH is leaving work early so we can take him..
I feel so bad dragging him to the vet again, but this must be done--I have a whole page of questions-
Heavy hearts here-I hope there will be some hope!
Grief is the price we pay for Love--He is worth it.

Hi Roni, my Maggie loves the Gerber Chicken & Gravy as a treat after the pokes. She gets a teeny bit for being so patient with me. I will be saying a prayer for you and DH today when you meet with the Oncologist.
Nice to see Moonie doing so well with the AMPS. He must sense something is going on with Copper. Lots of hugs.

Hi Roni,
We will be there with you this afternoon at 4, thinking good thoughts and offering a prayer for a good prognosis for Copper. It's good that you have your list of questions for the oncologist. Do you know anything about him/her?

I know that the waiting around today will be difficult, so try to find something to do that will be as close to your routine as possible. It would be good for Copper to feel that his household is normal.

Moonie is doing well this morning and that's a relief.

That is a beautiful sentiment, Roni. I will be thinking of you guys this afternoon. If the oncologist does say that chemo is an option, remember that cats tolerate it pretty well. I am sending prayers that the vet gives you some hope.

Moonie just keeps on trying to please doesn't she. Beautiful numbers today. What a good girl. Glad to hear Copper ate some and had a little poo.. A little poo is better than no poo.. :smile:

I'm also glad your DH is with you.. and you don't have to be alone.. Lean on him, lean on us! whatever the news,

Finally I can post something Positive!!--Oncologist vet was an absolute doll, he was kind, well informed & wanted to help--So Copper had his 1st chemo treatment-Carboplatin, goes directly into chest cavity, & hopefully shrink some of the tumors & stop the fluid from building up--If it works, he'd need 3-5 treatments every 3 weeks, along with prednisone--But even one treatment may work--Could give him 3-6 months more of good QOL!!
I got Mirtz for appetite & Cerenia for nausea..other side effects could be decreased appetite & energy(not so bad)
He did have 80 ml. fluid in there but they drained most out but left some as the chemo needs some fluid to work it's thing!

I am Sure They worked, but still keep doing it for him--WE have a ways to go yet!
He was amazing, let everyone do things to him--I guess he knows it helped!

So now, in case anything happens, at least we feel that we tried everything we could--Wasnt that that expensive as I thought either!!
He came home & ate 1/2 Big can Friskies Special diet chicken in gravy!!!
And ate his prednisone pill in a pill pocket!

Roni, excellent news about Copper, i'm so glad he didn't seem to mind all the poking and prodding.. Oh Roni I'm so glad you like the oncologist. It makes a huge difference. Glad treatment was started already,aaaaand it wasn't as costly as you thought it would be. That's a bonus. :smile:
I will absolutely keep Copper and you in my prayers . You, to have peace of mind, that you are doing all you can for copper, and that he will feel good, and have great QOL.

Moonie is being very cooperative today & doing well today--I'm going to wipe Copper down with a towel to get vetty smell off him!--He ate good & is now comfortably sleeping--Been taking pictures as you all advised & mabe a video--I'll try to get it up here if someone helps me the e-idiot!

Oh Roni, This is the best news! I've been thinking about you and Copper all day and now to read your post is such a relief. Copper will get the best care from his mamabean and also from a caring vet. And your boy enjoyed his dinner when he got home. How great is that! QOL-- that's so important.
We are continuing to send prayers and positive thoughts for Copper's treatment. Now: you, Brad, Moonie, and sweet, brave Copper enjoy your evening. Give those kitties some scritches for us. We are so happy for you tonight!

Roni, so happy to hear some good news! The oncologist sounds wonderful and I'm glad it was a good experience for you and Copper. Glad to see that treatment is rolling (but think I missed the part at what exactly they are treating - I never saw the path report info??) . I hope Copper has a tremendous first response and blows this 3-6 months out of the water - how about 1-2 years??? I'm thinking really positive
