Good Morning LL!! ~O) ~O) ~O) Peppermint white mocha today: not nearly as good as MochaMannie's, but it will do. Here's to you bug guy!
Happy Furday everyone. FRIDAY! YaHOO! The weekend approaches!! SWEET!

Yesterday was road trip day for Nicholas and I - we were off to the Skykomish River, which parallels a good long section of HWY 2, heading east. It was a gorgeous sunny day in the PNW, in the upper 60's! No way was I staying indoor with weather like that! We made two stops, each one had a different feel to the river. Nicholas had a blast. We threw a ka-zillion rocks in the river, tossed as many sticks. Puddles to be stomped in, trails to follow. We ate two lunches (yes TWO!), each one at a different stop. He was on happy little boy!! I so enjoy his company. He appreciates the simple things in life: like life on a river.... so mellow, laid back. Amazing how a raging river can be so calming... Here's the link for the Photos. There are videos too, intermixed throughout: five I think in total. PIcassa link: Skykomish River: AL Borlin Park and The Big Eddy I'm not too sure what Picassa did when it imported them all, as they are all out of order. Makes no sense to me, but no matter I suppose. The fun still comes through, no matter the order...

Nicholas and I talked a little more about Mannie. We were on the river and he starts talking about how Mannie likes chicken, and that Mannie should get lots of chicken. So so cute! I told him that yupp! Mannie can have all the chicken he wants. Nicholas then smiled and said Man-NIE happy! Yes, little man, that he is.There have been no new signs today, short of this glorious weather we are having. I think of him often, miss him more. I think that we as care givers to FD kitties build this incredible bond, a team bond. It is so difficult to let that go. I still get up every morning, and start the routine. Then I remember. At first it made me so sad. Now I smile at the memory, as that first test of the day was our time: he waited for me, climbed on my lap, and purred the whole bloody time... what a wonderful memory. Team Mannie rocks! Mannie said so!

Many yesterday asked about Elsa. She seems to be doing well. She is my loner kitty so in a way it is difficult to know how this has all affected her. She is adjusting I think. We now have more cuddle time in the evenings, something new for her, by her choosing. I view it as her taking care of the bean. She knows.... just as she knew it was Mannie's time and watched over him too. Incredible creatures these furkids of ours.

I would like to thank everyone that visited us yesterday - I am so so sorry I couldn't answer each post. I was just so tired... crashed in the middle of what I did write. so figured it was best to stop... better today! I SWEAR!

Have a great day today! Nicholas and I are off to the pool! YaHOO!!!!

ok... somebody spill the beans - what did those kitties do at the Full Moon party yesterday...rumors are flying!

Good Morning Michelle

What nice photos. It's amazing that such a young child, can enjoy the simplist of things, like lying in the sand, and just looking at stones, and splashing in water.
I'm so glad you have this relationship with Nicholas. What a treasure he is.

I also have been wondering about Elsa. When I lost Samantha, Check's sister, he looked for her, for days.
I bet Elsa knows you need her closer now. cat_pet_icon

Morning Michelle, beautiful pics of your adventures yesterday, both swimming the the River. So cute the way he loves that little stream of water in the one video and running so fast thru it. I second what Barb said about Nicholas a treasure and the relationship you have together. He enjoys every moment of your outings. That is so neat the way he keeps bringing Mannie up and talking together about him. He understands Mannie is happy.
So glad Elsa is adjusting and taying close to you. I think, too, she is trying to comfort you and in turn comfort herself. I remember similar things with Mags when her big bro crossed the Bridge.
Have a great swim time and adventure today with DGS. Hope the wether is as nice as yesterday

Wonderful pictures, Michelle! Good puddle-stomping, rock-climbing, rock-tossing fun!! Nicholas looks so happy being outdoors and enjoying every minute. I can see how you could be tired in the evening, however!

Elsa is doing well and helping you by looking after you. Good girl! She knows Mannie is now on another plane of existence.

Details of the Full Fish Moon party are in Rusty's condo. It was a huge success.

Enjoy your day today and have a good weekend. Thanks for keeping us up to date. I am so glad that you can remember the morning "routine" with a smile. That's what Mannie would have wanted.

Hugs,

Ella & Rusty

Hi Barb ~O) ~O) ~O) THX on the pics! He really does - so loves what i view as the simple things of life without all the trappings we all hang on ourselves. I had such fun with him yesterday, from just laying in the sand, running through puddles, and topdressing rocks in the river. I do it all with him, all such good fun. Plus - it was so incredible beautiful where we were. I am so glad that he enjoys these types of places as much as I do. THX on Elsa. SO far, so good. I think she is looking ,and comes to me when she can't find him. The other half is she knows too how much I miss him, so she spends the time with me.

Hi Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) THx on the pics! Oh yes on the water - he loves all aspects of it, whether a puddle, stream, river, whatever. He had such a great time yesterday - I hope that shows in the pics. You guys are right, and I know how special this all is with him. Wouldn't trade the time for anything. I think so too on his asking about Mannie, and talking about him. Me too on Elsa. We make sure she is reassured that all is well, and accept whatever cuddles she needs to give. THX on today - pool was great, and the sun is just now breaking through. It will be a great afternoon.

Hi Ella ~O) ~O) ~O) THX on the pics - it was such a beautiful area - and the river was exceptional. He was very happy little boy yesterday - what fun he had. He made sure he played tour guide, and led our expedition. I think so too on Elsa. She seems to have accepted it, still some hunts for him, but overall she's been good. Yes on the morning routine... 5 years of testing, and it is so automatic. They were good times.

I'm glad you and Nicholas go to get out and enjoy yourselves yesterday. He looks like he's having a good time in the pictures. I'm glad Elsa seems to be dealing with things pretty well and giving you some extra cuddles.

Hi, Michelle, what a great opportunity for exploring the river with Nicholas!
Give Elsa scritches and headbutts from us ~ it never ceases to amaze me how our animals tune in to our feelings.

Hugs!!!!

Hi Carla - THX, we really had a great time yesterday - the river was so nice! Elsa is doing well, an I am so glad that she is. Makes it easier on us all, that she is content.

Hi Liz - it Was! Enjoy as much as you want :-D - it was indeed a great day on the river.

HI Josie - oh yes - it was so fun there with him,. he just soaks up everything, and especially likes the time on the river. Darn cool! Will do on Elsa - she has been so good during the past few weeks, very attuned.

It sounds like you and Nicholas had a great day yesterday....although that is no great surprise  :-D ! I'm glad to hear Elsa is doing well. Yes, our furkids truly are amazing....

Great pix as slways!  I soooo want to go up there and take a closer look at all those rocks! Nicholas is a lucky boy to have a grandma who likes the simple things too! I love how bear keeps popping up in the pix.

I read yesterday's condo about Mannie's whisker. What a wonderful sign! I hope you continue to get them. I know the mornings must be toughest. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

I am sure Elsa misses Mannie but she is probably really enjoying the time with you.

Morning everyone ~O) ~O) ~O)

Hi Amy - We did! It was a fantastic time. oh yes on this river - it is one of my fav places to go. The Skykomish is wonderful. I so agree on Elsa. I think she's OK>

Hi Ann - THX. I so thought of yo and those rocks! :-D  THX on DGS - we do enjoy the time, and he has so much fun when grammie gets down and plays with him too. it's a blast. LOL on Bear - that is so crazy... Bear has developed into his sidekick. fun silly stuff.

Hi Marje - That it was - just out of the blue there was this whisker. made things so much easier when I saw it. Go Mannie! and yes, the morning are the hardest. That was such a routine: for 5 ears it was. I think so too on Elsa.
