Morning Lantus Landers! Got home and Scrabble puked up a hairball. I thought oh great this is gonna drive up his numbers a bit which I think it did!! but glad he got it out! He had a great appetite for breakfast though which is good.
I did not post his +3 last night which was 53, DH tested and I was too busy at work to post, but was very happy with the number!!!
So, the BIG question is today is the 7th day on this dose. What is our next step? Are we ready for a trial,or do we wait a little longer? I am hoping Libby and Jill will be here today to give us some advice! I am scared and excited about the possiblity!!! Will be looking forward to hearing what you guys think! I don't want to jinx anything so I am not letting Scrabble read my post!!! he is pretty pooped from the party last night anyway, I hear it was a good one!!!!

Looking good Scrabble! Sorry about the hairball pukus, blech. I'm too fat to wash myself much so I don't get hairballs very often. Mom brushes all my loose hairs off. My brother Tux gets hb's a lot though. Hope you get some great news today!! (antijinx!)

Hairball may have caused that 103, but this looks so so so good!!! Paws & fingers crossed for a good result!!

OMG just got up and I have tears in my eyes right now!!! I am sitting here crying like a baby typing! So, question, should we wait til Monday morning even if we get green tonight to make it the official start of a day? Are we ready??? OMG! So scared and excited!!!!!!!!!

Just fed them tuna to celebrate Scrabble lol!!!
And Marvie as far as the hairballs, I do brush Scrabble a lot but his fur is so long that it is inevitable, he also likes to give Sabrina a bath too so that doesn't help!!!

Thanks Nicole, so I wouldn't officially put gum day on my condo til tomorrow though right? Sorry just trying to figure all this out! And I test like I would do a preshot right? and then how often do I test after 3-4 hours correct? Sooooooo nervous!!!!!!!!!

Here's what you do:

Test at your normal AMPS and PMPS times. Feed multiple small meals throughout the day as much as possible (small meals are less likely to overwhelm a newly functioning pancreas).

If he is green at your normal test times, no need to test further until the next "PS" time, just feed small meals and go about your day. If he is blue, feed a small meal and test again after about 3 hours. If his number is lower 3-4 hours after a meal, then his pancreas is working!

Post every day so we can monitor your progress and see if any tweaks are needed. It is not unusual for cats to get lots of blue during their trial, especially at first. Don't panic and don't shoot unless we tell you to.

After 14 days of no insulin, we have a party!

No worries, do what Libby said.. but to answer your question to me too..

If you test tonight & get a green #, then start your trial.. you will type in your subject line:

4/25 Scrabble PMBG OTJ Trial Day 1 or if you want 4/25 Scrabble PMBG GUM Day 1 or some variation of that. A lot of people are superstitious or do not want a jinx so they call it Gum, I say OTJ Trial Day 1 because I don't think it matters what you call it ;-) it is either a success or it isn't. Anything you pick is just fine. Just make sure you use AMBG & PMBG, since it is not a preshot # now

**Your lucky... starting at night gives you 12 hours less sweating of Day 1!!

Thanks everyone, makes sense! I am going to be sitting on my hands until 4pm to see if he is green. Going for a hike with the hubby to relax, be back in a couple of hours to visit more condo's!!!

I Have been sitting here waiting to do his test and wringing my hands! Soooooooooo happy right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot believe we are finally on our trial. Thanks to everyone here for helping us to get here, we could not have gotten to this place without all of you!!!!!! I am praying and hoping for a great 2 weeks!!!! I know myself and this is probably going to be a stressful time for me so hopefully Scrabble cooperates!!!! Going to go out tonight and celebrate, should I get a test tonight or just leave him alone???

Thanks everyone, couldn't help myself when I just got home to test him just to see....... hhahaha I know put the strips down but he was 58 @ +3.5 yay!!!!!!
I lucked out while we were out too and found a case of FF old labels at Petco! Now I am going to relax the rest of the night and have some wine. Thanks again for cheering us on, it made me feel sooooooooo good!!!!!!!
