Went ahead and stuck with the .4u for now as she doesn't seem to be eating as well as she was before Sunday and I would rather error on the side of caution.

I think it is the heat that is getting to her as nobody seems to be eating as much in the last few days. But we don't want to switch over to air conditioning just yet as it is still early for Nebraska and I'm sure we will still have a few more morning that we will need the furnace. And by this weekend we are suppose to be back in normal to cool temps for this time of year, so just trying to tough it out again today.

I get that! Arkansas gets HOT!

Currently we are in the low 60's in the night and 80's during the day. It hasn't effected Sneakers yet but closer to summer it will and she will be slurping on her ice cubed food before it melts to stay cool  .

Re: 4/25 Musette amps 267

i always say I live in a bi-polar state, there is a joke around here that you truly know you are from the Great Plains if you have used the snow blower and the lawn mower on the same day. We have all four seasons, just sometimes they all happen on the same day. ohmygod_smile

Yesterday was 96, today is suppose to be 88 yet Friday we will be lucky to break 60s. We go from freezing our arses off in the winter to melting in the summer.

Re: 4/25 Musette amps 267

It was 96?????????????????

WOW, and I thought we had a warm spring. Some forecasts (I just typed that as "forecats" first, LOL) have us up to 89 here today, which is way warmer than it's been the past couple weeks.

I agree that cats don't eat as much in hot weather. Since their ancestors were desert dwellers, maybe they know to conserve energy and moisture when it's hot, so they didn't hunt. Or maybe the heat makes them tired like it does us!

Re: 4/25 Musette amps 267

Yea it was a 96 broke all kinds of high temp records here, average for this time of year around here is mid 50s to low 60s, so none of the animals have completely shedded out yet and everyone here were doing their best impression of throw rugs.

But since she isn't eating as much and not wanting a repeat of Sunday I figured I would stay with the .4u until the heat breaks and see if she goes back to eating better. I would rather have her in the higher numbers than falling through the basement until I'm sure she will eat if I need her to.

If she continues to stay in the yellows by this weekend I will probably raise her back up to the .5u

Re: 4/25 Musette amps 267

Well so far today she has been flat yellow which in the past with her means I'm about to see some action in the next couple of cycles, just got to be patience with her and see what she does. She is eating better now not as much as before but better in the terms that she tells me she is hungry when her dish is empty, but she still isn't scarfing her food down but grazing on it all day. Although that doesn't worry me too much as Maxwell and the other kitties are doing the same thing, they have gone from cleaning their dishes in 2.5 seconds flat to nibbling here and there and then announcing when the dish is empty and wanting it refilled.

Re: 4/25 Musette amps 267

Sounds like it has hit normal-ville in that all the cats are doing it.

I just PM'd you with a strange question.

Re: 4/25 Musette amps 267

And I just answered you...not sure it is the right answer but it is how I have handled Musette. Might want to send the same question to either Vicky or Sheila since Musette and I are still new to this game as well.

Re: 4/25 Musette amps 267, pmps 401 Ouch!

Took her back up to .5u tonight that pmps hurts after doing so well after the scare on Sunday...bummer.

Re: 4/25 Musette amps 267, pmps 401 Ouch!

I hope she levels out. That drop could be from the last dose signing off. I guess it'll be a late evening for you, but I think you made the right decision going to .5u.

Its always a late evening and an early morning for me...lol

Another really steep drop at +4...great .5 may be too much and .4 may not be enough...huh? Or do I need to drop down to .3u because she is still rebounding?

Hang in there with the .5u. The steep drops are only a problem if they don't stabilize within a few cycles. My experience taught me that the right dose could create steep drops after I had lowered it and went back up. Makes sense , right? A good dose will get those BGs down. It's like a pendulum sometimes - you want the dose to work but if it works too well it will cause the pendulum to swing too much. If it works just right, it will make the pendulum swing, but maybe not enough to make it keep swinging.

From your PS this AM, .5u is worth staying with. I would have expected well over 300s if she was bouncing form those drops.
