Boy was I wrong again. I thought he would go green last night but he went back up to pink by this morning. Maybe because that is how I feel. I sure hope he isn't feeling as rotten as I am. Please keep those prayers and vines coming. Just keep us in your thoughts. Thank you.

Re: 4/25 Max AMPS 346 Good News from Vet

Thank you all again for the prayers and vines. They are working!! I got an oral report from my vet just now. The radiologist is not concerned about the lung. His labs were really good. His glucose was 144. I had gotten 156 here so my meter is working. He still had +3 in his urine and +1 protein but his USG was really good so it is not a concern. My next step will be to get the cardiologist evaluation.

Re: 4/25 Max AMPS 346Good News from vet

I'm glad the radiologist took a look and eased your concern. Now, if Max would just get out off the pink zone this morning!

Re: 4/25 Max AMPS 346Good News from vet+3=383

Yea, Sienne, he's going in the wrong direction with his BG. I don't get it.

I still need to get the cardio evaluation which might explain his noises and discomfort. Something is wrong. I'm going to ask my vet to show the x-rays to the radiologist we have used in the past for a second opinion. He might to it on his own but I will ask anyhow for total peace of mind.

Re: 4/25 Max AMPS 346Good News from vet+3=383

Well that's great news, but I don't blame you for wanting a second opinion just to be sure.

Hey Max, you need to take off that pink coat and show mama a pretty yellow shirt! Maybe a blue undershirt? C'mon and make her happy - she needs cheering up!

Sending tons of vines and prayers.... :YMHUG:

Re: 4/25 Max AMPS 346Good News from vet+3=383

That's good news about the lungs but I don't blame you for wanting a second opinion. After all, no one has explained yet why he would make that grunting noise and that is a symptom of some illness or disease. Continue to press them for a correct diagnosis, just like you are doing. It is the only way you'll get the solution for the proper treatment to help Max.

That grunting noise may have those vets stumped. They might have to pull out their study books.

Re: 4/25 Max AMPS 346Good News+3=383+5.75=324

The reason for the second opinion is that he is still grunting. If the cardiologist can explain it, great. At least great if it can be treated. If not, I need to know what this is. He's still doing it.

As for my vet, he was backed up by more than an hour because he fit me in. I've been on the other end of that before. I am so lucky that he will do this. He agreed that the fructosamine would be useless, by the way. Now let's get rid of the stinky pink.

The cardio appointment is set for Wednesday afternoon.

Great news on the X-rays! And that you have a cardio appointment booked for next week. Your vet sounds very thorough. I hope you get a diagnosis soon and whatever they find is easily treatable. :YMHUG:

Max - it would make your mommy very happy if you came down a floor or two please.

Hi Elise,

That's really good news from the vet. Remember - you've done what you can for the day. Now give Max lots of love tonight and worry about the next step tomorrow. (Don't forget to take care of yourself in all of this, too.)

I'm continuing to send lots of healing vines Max's way! :YMHUG:

Wendy, yes my vet is a gem. I called him again to bug him about cardiologists. He was so sweet. I have made four appointments. The one my vet likes the most can't see him until Friday afternoon. I made an appointment for Monday morning and two for Wednesday afternoon. I am canceling one of the Wednesdays in a little while as they didn't have great Yelp reviews and they charge over $120 more than the others. I think I will likely keep the one for Monday morning to get things moving. She is $41 more than the other two which isn't so bad.

Shelly, thanks for visiting. I see you only tested once today. Good for you. I'm wondering when you will skip a day. Is Jersey wondering why she isn't getting so many treats?

Have a great weekend everyone. Wishing vines to those who need and green for everyone!! Thanks again for the support this week.

{{{Elise}}}

You are a wonderful, loving mamabean. I'm glad you have several options when it comes to a cardiologist. It will be nice to get more than one opinion.

I agree that you've done everything possible for now, so just relax and love on your kitty and take care of yourself! I'll be keeping you and Max in my prayers. :YMHUG:

I'm glad you got some good news today. Paws crossed the cardiologist you use will be one you like and can trust.

Sending more vines and prayers.

Thanks, Marje and Tricia. We finally hit blue today. I guess I should check one more time but I don't think he will go a lot lower tonight.

OMG, I just started reading about convenia which was administered to Max yesterday. I am now scared to death. Lisa Pierson would never use it. It's too late now. Please don't let this hurt Max. I am petrified now.

You would have noticed an allergic reaction by now. It should be OK. :YMHUG: But those kind of things can build so now you know not to get it next time.

I sure hope so. Something made me read about it and some said they had a reaction a week later and their cats died. My vet told me no side effects. I knew there was a problem with it being long lasting for some but I couldn't remember and was so worried as he told me he was going to give the shot while I was looking at the x-ray of the lung!! No time for it to totally register. Bad memory!!
