1st day of Tracey's patience training Level II by Jones.

Found a budesonide on the floor this morning. Cheeky little...Cat, yes cat. So, I guess I now know why his appy is off a bit...if his IBD didn't have it's usual support. I think that was from Saturday night...which may explain the nice numbers...hmmm. Any way, took said offending pill and put it back into the pill box. It will have its day.

DS tried a +9 snack yesterday - but he really didn't eat yesterday during the day. Will be trying the snack again today. He did eat all his evening food though plus some FF I bought to see if he was bored. He ate 3/4 can of FF at +3. So I guess I will get a few more to add to the rotation and mix with the wellness. Just didn't want to change to much over the next week but I need him to eat. At least I keep a record of what he eats.

The poop patrol all came back with negative reports of any gooeyness. Just a ton of pee apparently (CKD got some subq - first attempt at that, I am telling you that 3Kg munchkin has me and DS running for the sakes of our skin after).

So we will see how today's appy goes.

Jonesy, very sneaking on being cheeky. His preshots are coming down a bit and he hit a nice 67 the other night so still thing this is a nice safe dose for him. If you were able to monitor more closely I might think about going up a tiny bit in dose. However, with the med change too I'd just keep doing what you're doing. Hope he continues to feel good.

My civvie Minka was a champ at appearing to swallow her HyperT meds, then the next day I'd find a pill on the floor - never knew if it was the current day's or a previous one, so couldn't give her another.

Did you watch Marje's video on giving fluids? Of course, Gus was a one of a kind cat.

That is the plan for this week. No changes till next Monday (see I am learning!), unless he goes under 90 or shows some green PS #'s.

I think last time it took about 2-3 weeks for the dose change on the pred to become very noticeable in his numbers. However I was also thinking the F1 drop is like 1-1/2 to 2 drops and may be a touch light. The dose of 0.1u less 6 drops was like 3-5 drops. Which he was doing well on, and I just kept dropping a drop when he went below 90. I think the vacation dose may have been a touch too soon to keep going on. That said, his last blood work said he was in remission all ready . Which raised some eyebrows when I asked for a new pen. Really had to explain myself as my vet is on maternity right now.

I will be able to test more this weekend again for at least a day and a half. Then on Monday we can re-evaluate where we are at.

I know right? It is like - is that today's or yesterday's or when? I just put it back in the pill box. Man has Jones gotten good and cheeking them. And I always give a treat after and make sure he eats them...grrr.


No I didn't but I will need to watch it. Rain is the cuddlest little thing until you touch her for a needle or to clip her nails. And she is so small and twisty.
Like I said - 3kg alligator. I so just wanted to work her way into it instead of towel wrapping. It did go better than at the vet clinic at least. Plus my technique is amateur level - like learning to inject insulin and home testing!
