Amps 45 Libre

Earlier this am:
Dropped lower late in overnight cycle. Began drop at +9 (3 am) got Libre alert of 59.
At +10 (4 am) Fed 1 tsp 6%
42 on Libre.
At Amps Libre read 45, fed 9.25% breakfast. Then 10 minutes later she dropped to Lo on Libre before her shot (already ate 1/2 meal) but tested on Contour and got 139.
(Maybe food influenced already since slightly higher carb than normal 6%?)

Gave full dose 4.25 units.
Didn’t increase because she seems to be having active cycles where she’s in the range I’d like to see her. (Yesterday am, overnight and so far this morning).
We will see how she does to determine if dose is right for her.
It’s gonna be a long day ahead.

Hi Kit, it’s so stressful when she has these 3 am dips overnight. Trying to figure out what to do and what to feed at Amps. I tend to feed a bit higher 9.25%. Hope that’s right. ;)
Hope we can keep making things better for her.
I know you feel the same for Mikan.
Mikan rebounded nicely from her drama dip to limes last night. :eek:Good job!!

I still seem to have trouble posting this morning. Something seems off with the server.

Well Ivy is bouncing up I guess from her late cycle dip low. I fed 6% snack at +1 (instead of staying with 9.25% as fed at amps).
Bummer for such a big bounce so early. Hope she comes back down. :arghh:

Ivy had quite a day yesterday so she's taking a break now, Staci.
She will come down though. She's been good at making sure that she add blues and greens in her daily color book ;)

Hopefully you're somewhat rested but I'm sending some back up CATpuccinos to get you through.
Hopefully she surfs through with no issues and no dips.

It takes longer than 10 minutes for food to affect the BG. I’d really love to see you test those PSs in the 40s on the Libre before you shoot and then you can post the Contour BG. If you post you shot a 45, many lurkers might believe that was on a human meter so it might be good to put Libre right after the 45. Thank you. :)

I updated the SS to say Libre after the PS of 45 (it said L after the 45 but that makes it more clear).
Ok I can try to test 40s numbers if at at a PS.
As for the food, i figured since it was higher carb (than her norm) maybe it would affect BG faster since 6% doesn't do much if at all to move the needle for her).

It seems to me she's bouncing from those lows early this am (but maybe I am not sure that's what I am seeing on the SS).
I find it very confusing to read a SS and make sense of it, no matter how hard I try to interpret :banghead:

Thanks, Diane. I know...I was up early this am and responded to Kit. I hope this dose is good for her, just don't want her in high numbers for long stretches.
I know she will drop back down again, she's pretty quick to turn around from a bounce.

I actually was also more concerned about the subject line in today’s condo ;)

The only HC that affects the BG quickly is honey, syrup, sugar water, etc.

Oh so sorry I misunderstood! Just added that Libre detail.

I have noticed that when I give a medium /higher carb that the Libre responds somewhat quickly to food. A lower carb does nothing to move the numbers on the Libre. Just an observation. (shrug)

Thank you. Well that’s likely because the Libre is behind because the food hasn’t had time to affect the BG.
