4/23 post: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...-reduction-plus-concerns.194574/#post-2177792

Brief recap: PM 4/22 (4th cycle on Lev) Mia went to 66 (AT2) so reduced from 1.5 to 1.25 as of AM 4/23. AM 4/23 appeared to be bounce, but it appeared to have cleared by PM cycle. Stayed on 1.25 for three cycles after bounce cleared. Numbers have remained higher than desired, and the 'time in the blue' appears to be reducing. Also, back to AMPS in upper 300s today. So, I called it - failed reduction - and went back to 1.5 this morning.

Good luck and good call on the increase. How is Mia feeling on the Levemir? Do you notice any differences? She looks flatter than on Prozinc so far, which you'd think would feel better.

I am glad I increased when I did, because she is staying pretty high this cycle. Hopefully, that will start to turn around in the next cycle or two.

I have been a little concerned about her because she is still laying around more than normal and just does not look like she feels too great much of the time. I have been able to get her to play with me a little each afternoon though. Her eating has been different too, but I am not overly concerned about that at this point, because she does end up eating enough in the course of the day that I think we are ok. The hair above one of her eyes has thinned and the skin is slightly pink; she has a sore there were she has scratched herself. So, I am keeping my eye on that. Poor baby. I hope the insulin change was a good call. I am trying to be patient and let her little system adjust before 'judging' anything.

PMPS is 211, lowest result of the day. (UPDATE: Ummm, that is not her lowest number of the day. DUH. 204 is a little lower than 211 . Close though.)

So, were her numbers so high this cycle because the dose over the last few cycles was really too low, and the full effect of that was just becoming evident? And, nadir occuring at the next PS (+12) could be because of the higher dose just starting to 'counteract' that (for lack of a better word)? I know you have to allow a few cycles before reading too much into things, but I am just trying to analyze what is there so far and begin to understand the way this insulin works.
