Of course I once again spoke a little too soon yesterday...Trix's appy was in the "meh" category for the early part of the day, and since I had to work, I ended up doing a little assist-feeding to make sure she had the calories. Her demeanor still seemed fine-n-spunky...just weird appy issues. It did pick up during the evening hours, though...that was much more along the lines of what I like to see.

She is off to a strong start so far today (anti-jinx), and I've even gotten in an unexpected bonus round of fuds! Of course I'm still trying to figure out why she's bright-eyed and feisty with an appy that's not quite up to par. Today I'm wondering if it's the cerenia....I know one of its potential side effects is loss of appetite, and I had started giving it to her daily instead of every other day when we had those couple barf incidents a few weeks ago. I wonder if that's too much cerenia for her, even though I know others do dose it daily. Anyway, I'm working her back to every other day now, to see if that helps. As of now, her last dose was yesterday morning - strong appy to start, then it faded shortly after her morning gelcap. Coincidence??? She won't get any cerenia again until tomorrow morning....or at least that's the plan.

We had been on a good roll with gelcaps...several days in a row with "holes in one!" Today she was feeling feisty, though...I screwed up pill placement on my first attempt, and that was all she wrote. I actually did get it down on my second attempt about 10 minutes later, but barely - I managed to flick it into her mouth just as she swatted my hand away. She wanted absolutely nothing to do with the syringe of water I give her afterwards, though, and I didn't want to push my luck. A minute later, I heard her tail hitting something as it swished around. I gently moved it just to make sure it wasn't the gelcap an she hissed at me! Feisty girl. And it wasn't the gelcap...phew!

Today is my Dad's follow-up with the pulmonary doc...x-ray in the morning, appointment in the afternoon. Hopefully we'll see improvement in the pictures, but in the meantime he continues to NOT have any respiratory symptoms. When I talked to them last night, he sounded pretty good overall...hopefully we're really turning the corner on this last month that has been so physically and psychologically horrific.

Winter has returned...temps in the 30s, heat's back on, mittens are back out, Amy's not a happy camper :(....

With that, it's an early start/long day with these appointments, so I need to get moving. Sending extra appy vines to Tricia's sweet Minka.

Have a great day, L&LL!

Amy

You sound as if you have your hands full one way and another! I hope Trixie's appetite continues to improve. It is always a worry when they won't eat isn't it?
I hope the appointments with your Dad go well today. It sounds like the last few months have been hard.
Sending apply vines to Trixie and healing vines to your Dad

Appy vines coming your way. Hopefully it is on the up swing. Nice green this morning! Whew on the gelcap. That couple have been a disaster. Always a struggle.

Good thoughts coming your way for your dad's appt. ((((AMY))))

Eat yer fuds, Trixie. We want to see the CPC ribbon on your SS today!

Sending vines for your dad's appointment today, Amy. I sure hope he'll continue to feel better and that all of you will have a good weekend.

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Morning Amy :coffee::coffee::coffee:

LOVE that amps trixie! Est your fuds, though, 'K? I wonder maybe if part of the appy thing is seasonal? I know all three of my furkids aren't eating up to par, all coincided with the seasonal change. Maybe? just a thought. I will hope for a better appy today.

Many good vibes fo your dad today. I hope he continues to improve.

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well.

Nice AMPS! I hope you have the fuds issues figured out w/ the Cerenia.

Sending lots of good test results for your DF!

{{{AMY}}} I do feel for you with the appy worry. At least she's eating, which is so much better than not! I'm also comforted to hear that she's otherwise textbook Trixie - feisty and bright-eyed, etc. And that AMBG! :D:D:D:D

Sending appy vines for Trixie and many prayers and vines for your DF's appointment today.

Thanks for the appy vines for Minka. We need all the help we can get. :bighug:

Appy vines spreading Trixie's way, Amy. Hope the cerenia experiment confirms your suspicions and gets your little girl back on the eating track!

Thoughts for your dad. Sounds like he's on the road back after that miserable pneumonia set-back. Sure hope so.
