4/24 TAFFY-AMPS 403

Oh, my!!! Taffy has not has a RED AMPS in a long time. I assume from Combo of constipation, lactulose, and I gave a higher carb middle-of-night snack (just a Tbsp, but Wellness Healthy Indulgence pouch)(anyone know the carbs of this stuff? the changed it a little and now he likes, so I may save these as carb boosters).

Also, he got some of BK's kibbles just a bit ago while I was fixing his brekkie. Kibbles just happened, so are not in play for the AMPS test, but I am sure he will run high today after getting these. I am disappointed that he got the kibbles, but also a little glad about it because he has not even tried to sneak kibbles in the mornings in a couple of weeks. He has been very lethargic and disinterested, and he loves kibbles! It was nice not to have to watch him like a hawk, but it also worried me at the same time. It was probably part of his master plan to get me to lower my vigilance! ( I know he was probably driven by hunger from the high BG)

Wish my boy would poop. I want to give him a dose increase.

Looks like he barely ate any brekkie after that kibble raid.

Aha! Just did box cleanup and looks like Taffy made a decent poopy sometime this morning. Yay! It was rather hard looking, so I think I may do another Lactu dose later just to make sure he is relieved.

Ate one more bite of brekkie, and peed. I tried to check ketones, but the urine was in litter (wood pulp, mainly) so I don't know how accurate. It read as btwn normal and trace. He is not a DKA kitty, just thought I would check with the 403 happening this morning.

Glad he POOPED! Now he just has to keep it going. I hate seeing those red numbers but at least you know he came by them honestly!
