4/24 Oberon PMPS 63, +0.5 116, +1.5 103, +2.75 88, +4 79, +5 72, +6 87, +7 96

Wow yes, good luck with the new dose. I just looked back at Oberon's sheet from last year (October especially) - OH MY GOODNESS. How did you keep sane with those ketone numbers?!! You are (even more than before) my R guru. Behave, Oberon!

Well, dang. Cleared that bounce and then some. Wonder if this is going to mean a late night.

The first time he popped above 2.5ish (along with looking a little off and losing his dinner), I freaked out and he got a trip to the ER and a full workup the following week with an internist. (That's when we discovered the IAA.) The guidance I was given at the time was to just monitor appetite and so on, and only bring him in if he looked like he wasn't feeling well. He ended up hitting some ridiculously high ketone numbers (8+ one time!) with absolutely no issues. But I don't trust that he'll always respond this way. If something compromises his ability to regulate pH, he could end up in DKA if ketones go up again. So I don't freak out about it now, but I'm not ignoring it, either. But I'm glad we got him to the point where the ketones finally came down.

I think what impressed me the most was how you used the R to work on the ketones. Our internist was telling me the same thing but it's only now I look back at your spreadsheet (benefit of a calm mind!) that I can see how effective it was, your spreadsheet laid it out really clearly. Good luck with the rest of the evening, hope you get some sleep!
